WHAT IF!
Blake "the big flop" Griffin decides to stay in college? Would it be a lot easier for the Nets to move up in the draft you think? Alot of teams are already looking to trade out of the draft because of the talent level declining so much after Steve Blake. I mean Blake Griffin. Wouldnt the news of him staying in college just make it more likely for teams to trade their pick? Well find out his decision 96 minutes from now.

I hope you're not saying Blake Griffin is a FLOP. That is one badass dude, he's NBA ready RIGHT NOW.

Re: WHAT IF!
I would love for him to stay in school.
Barring injuries, he would still be top 3.
If we finally get rid of VC, we would continue developing. I am even willing to keep Frank on for one more year to help us accidentally TANK next year.
We would also have Dallas' pick. Kidd is most like is gone and going to CLE. Dallas is slowly slipping every year. They are in the 8th spot this year. Next IMO they are out.

i dont know man. when i watch his game i dont see anything special. and ive seen all the records hes set and they were all held by people like joel pryzbilla and jeff foster. those arent 2 names you want to be in the same group as if your in the NBA. hes a poor mans kenyon martin at best.

I dont see the comparison to Martin.
First, the guy is an ox. Martin has always been fragile.
Second, The guy has an offensive game. Martin has the ugliest offensive game in the NBA.
I would take Blake over Beasley any day.

The only way I see them missing the playoffs next season is if they have a major injury and no other team does or if one of the teams like GSW, OKC, Memphis, Sacto or Minny makes a blockbuster trade that works out extremely well. Phoenix is falling apart at the seems and IMO will try to deal Shaq and Jason Richardson, possibly even Nash and 50/50 on Amare.
It will probably only take around 45 wins to get the 8th seed in the West next season, so almost by default I see Dallas making it.
One or 2 of the lotto teams will make strides in the West next season and win 30 something games, maybe even 40, but unless that blockbuster deal goes down I doubt they win more then Dallas.
I mean it is viable they could have injuries, but they had a lot this year and fought through it and next year a team like NOH or Denver could suffer an injury and wind up missing the playoffs by a few games, so one of the current lotto teams and Dallas could concievably make it.

Agreed.
KMart is a really bad comparison, Griffin and him are total polar opposites as players.
Griffin is a gifted offensive player and an absolute beast on the boards. He can create his own shot, but is subpar on defense.
Kenyon was a fiery intimidator, a defensive specialist, a ridiculous shot blocker, ran the break like a deer and finished by almost ripping the rim off and has little post game to speak of. He has trouble creating his offense, although both are pretty gifted passers, especially for big men.
He is a good rebounder and was a lot better pre-injury, but not to the level of Blake.
Kenyon was strong and athletic as they come, but injuries ruined his career.
Although the Kenyon that got drafted would still be the a top 3 pick in this draft, he was the #1 overall pick basically by default the year he was drafted, figuring the 2000 draft may have literally been the worst draft of all time, period.

Looks like blake is coming out. No mention if he signed an agent yet tho.
Can Frank coach the kids?

Re: WHAT IF!
His agent could be Agent Orange and he would still go #1 overall. IF Rubio declares and Minny got the #1 overall pisk that is probably the only chance Blake goes #2 and even if that was the scenario Minny would probably still draft Griffin and trade him to whomever drafts Rubio for some extra incentive, like a future pick and 3 mill cash.

Re: WHAT IF!
See youre comparing kenyon martins pro career to blake griffins college career. griffin is averaging what like 22 and 12, something like that. when martin declared for the draft he was also a 20 and 10 guy. he was the clear cut choice #1 pick in 2000 and you can attribute that to there not being much other talent in that draft (sounds similar to this year doesnt it?). griffin is just a kid im not praying to Allah that he fails at life. hes not going to be a franchise changing player or anything like that. hes gonna need a jason kidd type player to make him effective in the NBA. same kind of talk was going on last year about michael beasley being a franchise player, hes still a rookie and has time to grow but hes struggling in his first year as well. oh and remember some college kid a couple years ago, damn what was his name..... oh yeah. greg oden. anyone remember him??

I think you need to rethink this.
Martin has always been fragile. Blake has a lot of skill around the basket and a pretty decent mid range jumper. Martin had ugly post up moves and EVERY time Martin shot a jumper I pretty much thought it wasnt going in. That is how ugly his offense was. Sorry IMO I think Blake is going to be a better all around player then Martin.

Without a doubt, Griffin will be the better player. KMart would've been special if he didn't have those injuries and he's a hot head. Griffin is polished in nearly every aspect of the game, that he needs to be. Sure, it'll take some learning at the next level, but he definitely has all the tools. He has the heart and passion too. Will be a great player, no doubt.
