Rod Thorn ended speculation about Lawrence Frank’s status as Nets’ coach Wednesday announcing that the team’s winningest coach will not be fired and will fulfill the last year of his contract. “Lawrence will be coming back as coach,” Thorn said. “We’re happy to have him and we’re lucky to have him…in my mind, he’s a good coach.” Frank has one year and $4.5 million remaining on his contract.

Looks like we have to look forward to another wasted year. YAY!

Watch Thorn saves Frank again by pulling some insane trades in the offseason like the Celtics did and mortgage our future for a championship, allowing Frank to get an extension like Doc Rivers did. The only difference is we wouldn't sell out a game at the Izod till the Eastern Conference Finals.

Congrats, Frank!!!!

Congrats, Thorn!!!!

TO BAD NETS FANS!!!!!!!

Another year of mediocre basketball.
Another year of listening to Frank's pregame moronic interviews.
Another year of listening to Frank clap for 48 minutes X 82 games.
Another year of BAD starting lineups and BAD rotations.
Another year of NO clue defense.
Another year of 1 quarter deficits, 2 Quarter Scoring droughts, 3 Quarter Lead loses, and 4 Quarter Bone Head Coaching Decisions

AND FINALLY!!!!!!!!

ANOTHER YEAR OF SMALL BALL

I wonder what new system he'll come with this year.I still think will make the playoffs, anywhere from 6th to 8th SEED unless something amazing happens like Frank gettin fired after 20 GAMES.Lets make it 10 games.

I think our starting lineup should be:
DEVIN
CDR
VC
YI(Please have a break out season)If not i guess Anderson but i really dont like him there.
BROOK

OFF THE BENCH:
DOOLING(I liked him in the starting lineup but he played great off the bench all year and CDR IS GONNA HAVE A BREAK OUT SEASON.Quote it snitches
HAYES
ANDERSON
SEAN WILLS(I wish) Give him one more chance RT/Frank,he still has one more strike  . He went from Xfactor to No factor and it wasn't because of his play on the court.Or teach Boone how to bend his knees when he's shooting foul shots.Boone is more sensitive then my baby moms.MAN UP!!!!!!!
SIMMONS(He played better off the bench but hopefully we can trade him)
DRAFT PICK(WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY UNDER FRANK)
NAJERA(trade him)
HASSEL(Please opt out)or can we Arnold Schwarzenegger him?which is it?

Since we just solved the first big question of the offseason, I guess the next one is where we draft. Knwoing that I am stating the obvious, if we can somehow bribe David Stern to let us win the lottery (just like the Knicks did when getting Ewing) are starting 5 would be set.

pg - haris
sg - CDR
sf - Carter
pf - Griffin
c - Lopez

In terms of our bench - Dooling, Hayes (assuming ee pick up option which I think is a sure thing) and Anderson off the bench. Hopefullu we can turn Simmons, Najera, Yi, Swat and Boone into a backup pg and center (no easy task, again stating the obvious).

Now I will wake up from my dream....

I post this on that site.

As much as I dont agree with Harris and what he said in this interview,

One thing, though. Vince Carter, the captain, played hard until the very end. He may not always agree with Frank or like his yelling on the sidelines. But as long as Frank has Carter playing hard and playing to win, that's a plus for him.

So Harris isnt the only one that has issues with Frank.

I agree. There are a few people on Netsdaily's board that thinks they're just flat out superior to everyone. I probably sound like that at times, but I'm just an overly passionate guy when it comes to my sports teams. I hope nobody takes it personal haha.

p.s. NEVER EVER EVER go to Hoopshype's forums. Those kids just aren't bright on the Nets board. Either that or they're 13 and don't know any better.

I've never posted or read the forums on Netsdaily nor Hoopshype, it's that bad?

Edit: Hey, SIC, the link to that article doesn't work.

Some of the guys on Netsdaily know what they're talking about, I just think a lot of them can get rather pompous.

Hoopshype, I'm 85% positive nobody over 15 posts on that board. I remember being as clueless as they were a decade ago.

There are people on the site that know what they are talking about but there are some that dont see past their egos. Granted I am a convinced person, it gets to be annoying. Sometimes I feel like the Nets are pulling a Yi on them.

Its stuff like this that remind me why I love you soo much dude.

Anyway I know Im gonna be in the vast minority here but I think this is the right decision.
Look guys I hate Frank as much as the next Nets fan, watching him keep us mediocre for all those years where we actually had the talent to contend was frustrating beyond belief but the fact remains that under him this team overacheived this season.

In all honesty this team didnt look like a playoff team on paper at the start of the season.
Go back to our last off-season debates did anyone here really expect us to be close to the playoffs?
The answer is no no one did.
Frank believe it or not actually did a solid job this year he developed the young guys like he was supposed to and got great a great season out of the veterans.
So basically what Im saying is that if we didnt fire this guy after last year's ABSYMAL season there's no reason to do it this season.

Next season is a completley different story though, this is definately a playoff team on paper going into next season with Harris,VC,a more mature Lopez, more experience together and the lottery pick.
This is his last shot and he knows it its playoffs or go home for Franky boy.

Thanks dude, link worked this time.

I don't agree with Al about Harris throwing his teammates under the bus. I think it's pretty obvious that no player, especially one's at the NBA level want a midget that never even played college ball screaming and clapping at them LITERALLY all game long, I mean who does that?
Not even Bobby Knight(que irony).

I think he's hiding behind his teammates, actually. He's not man enough to just admit that he doesn't want Frank back, so he hides behind them. The main thing is that he essentially said that the young players don't know any better. That sticks out to me, because Brook was very adamant about wanting Frank back. I think Devin's treatment of the younger player's opinions is a little condescending.

Oh, I just realized that that link doesn't contain Devin's comments. Here they are:
Asked Tuesday whether the Nets want Frank to return, Harris may have revealed why team president Rod Thorn has taken so long to make that determination.

"I think some guys are kind of too young to understand what's going on," Harris said, "and some of the veterans I think have mixed feelings."

And:
"It is a long season and speaking from a player's standpoint, voices do get repetitive, which is natural. But that's a big thing for (Rod) obviously, if everybody is buying in, if the voice is being heard," Harris said. "If you look at us and how we play defensively, you wouldn't think so. Maybe not. But it's a hard thing to discern because you can only speak for yourself. It's no secret that we're not that good defensively and we tend to struggle with team-oriented things, so maybe not everybody is buying in as much as we need to."

http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/nets/2 ... EPpsz1Qx&A

So I guess it's not that he's throwing his teammates under the bus (though I'm not really sure how reliable his comments about his teammates opinions are anyway), but he's very publicly throwing his coach under the bus, all while pretending he's not. He just seems like a very passive-aggressive person, and that type of person bothers me more than anything, but oh well.

I think the way the Nets have handled the whole thing has been terrible. If he didn't hold any power before, he sure as hell won't now. What's the point of keeping a coach, when you've clearly dragged it out, and displayed that there was a lot of thought put into firing him? He's just gonna be a sitting duck, and you're basically giving the players the ok to disrespect him.

It's comments like these that are the reason you're no longer aloud on the general board.
