Hypothetical Marbury question.

Post#1 » by livintoolive » Fri May 1, 2009 3:49 am

I know that Marbury was not with the Nets as much as the Knicks, but i'm sure you guys generally hold as much disdain for him as Knicks fans hold.

I thought since the hate level is probably similar, the opinion of Nets fans would be equally helpful to NetsForce.

I hate the Celtics and their fans that forgot what it was like to suck something fierce. I hate Marbury and all that he embodies. Marbury wouldn't be the reason they win game 7 though. The refs would sweat on Paul Pierce where he'd go to the line 35 times. I'm sick of the Celtics getting away with illegal picks. They get called once a game on it...when I would say 65% of them are illegal.

I have nothing against marbury, but I hate the celtics almost as much as any franchise in sports. Prelude is right they get away with everything. There fans suck too. Watch a Boston home game, if the refs call a foul on the celtics the entire arena starts crying like little babies. And last night when eddie house hit his first shot of the game in overtime and glen fat f**k davis set the illegal pick i didnt hear a whistle. he was moving his feet like he just had a nice big slice of cake and was on a sugar rush. so if marbury does lead the celtics to a victory in game 7 i will have to dislike him for taking a team i hate to the next round.

Yeah I yelled at the TV when Baby set that screen too. Totally moving with the player. Should have been game over right there. Still...an amazing game last night.

Boston fans just forgot what it's like to suck in all their sports. They've become the most obnoxious city in the country. Now, I do have a lot of friends who live there and actually LOVE the city of Boston, but when any boston team game is on now, they just act like they are above the law. Maybe it's due to their unnatural sense of entitlement from years of owning the NBA.

Also, it's not to say Net fans would get a little pompous if we won a title. I just think that Net fans will always remain optimistically pessimistic even in title years lol. That and I don't think anyone would notice the 15 actual Net fans being pompous. There are about 10 million more Celtic fans than Nets fans so when you're at that level of a fan base, it gets aggrevating.

But back to Marbury, screw him. I hated him here. If he took more than 20 shots in a game, we'd lose by 15. If he took less than 15 shots in a game and had as least 8 assists, we'd win. He's a me-first player and I have ZERO respect for those types of guys.

Part of the thing with Bostonians is that when their teams are doing bad they jump off their bandwagon and completely stop supporting them, when their teams do good they all come flocking back so it just makes the obnoxious turnaround that much more evident IMO.

Oh yeah, Marbury all day.

They need to learn how to wallow in self pity like Cleveland fans have done for generations. I actually know a ton of true Cavs fans, and they're not this pompous at all. I think it's due to them being Browns fans too. They always assume the bottom will drop out any moment.

The only time those fans get high and mighty is when the topic of Lebron leaving comes up lol.

I hope the Celtics lose i can't stand them either. When Rose blocked the crap out of Rondo it made my night, i screamed so loud i woke my 3 year old son up.I hope they lose so Doc Rivers will stop talking like he's the best coach in the league.I hate lookin at big babys fat face and wackass haircut to.lol

oh yeah,I hope Marbury plays more than 5 minutes so the Bulls have a better chance at winning.I don't hate him but he's such a loser.

I can't believe how good Salmons is playing.

Doc is a crap coach. With how Stern wanted it to go down, If Lawrence Frank was the coach, he could have slept on the bench last season and they still would have won the title. It's the one thing I'm scare about this offseason: What if Thorn mortgages our future to get 2 legit guys to play with Devin and Vince and we do something stupid like win a title...Frank gets a 5 year extension. Celtic fans hated Doc until last season. I fear that may happen if Thorn ever did this.

Peja/West for Simmons/Hassell/Yi/Anderson/CDR/#11. Haha they'd tell us to die if Lopez wasn't there. I was just making a hypothetical argument

Haha that made my night. What was this, he did all this within the last 2-3 years? Maybe he realizes he isn't getting into heaven the way he was acting? I'm not forgiving him yet for the me-first attitude he had for the better part of a decade yet. Maybe in a few years. To me, he still has zero respect in my book. But maybe that's because I'm Irish and Italian and stubborn due to genes lol.

Marbury has done some incredibly charitable things, and if you've seen his press conferences when he does these things, you will realize they were from the heart. At the end of the day, that doesn't change his play on the court. It's unfortunate, there's nothing that I would have loved more than a charitable and caring stud PG on the knicks. Unfortunately, when it comes to his value as an NBA player, his play is more important than his off court contributions. And his play is not winning style basketball.
