Wow we're like a 5-6 seed if we win 45 games. I think it'd more likely we trade our 2009 and both 2010 first rounders to get Blake personally if I was choosing between these two option. option #2 could have a lot of hypothetical things to consider though, because you never know if Thorn can swing a deal to make us a solid playoff team. To much hinders on "what ifs" with #2, which is why I think #1 would be more likely to happen.
If you switched to "Nets make the playoffs" then I'd pick that, but not 45-50 games.

Neither
Unless Thorn gets a PF and a SF or SG to start, we will be around the same record +/- a few games. You bring back the same coach with a NEW offensive plan along with NO Defensive plan.
Come On. This is like asking which would you prefer $1 million dollars OR $1 million dollars in twenty dollar bills.

Considering that the Nets` chances at getting Griffin are 0.9%, but we could work a trade to get the 1st pick(although not likely) and assuming our team next year is basically the same, with the same coach, i pick the first one is most likely. I actually think that we will be in the playoff run, and that we might make it, but with Lawrence Frank i dont think we are winning 45-50 games next year. I´d say we´ll win about 35-42 games in 2009-2010.

I'm gonna say constructed as is, as in same coach and same players, plus whoever we take with our lotto pick, we are a 41-46 win team. Had Devin not missed around a dozen games and had we just split those about 5 tear jerkers that we lost to the tune of 2-3, we probably would have won about 5 to 8 more games. Add a year's experience overall for the rookies and a year's experience with this team playing with each other and i think that nets you(no pun intended) around 4 wins alone at worst. Add to that another lotto pick(although the kid could be a bust or unused just as easily as being effective and succesful) and the hope of less games missed to injury and I think we make it happen as the 6xth or 7th seed.

Chances Nets draft Griffin: .9%
Chances Nets win 45-50 games: .9%

In order for us to win 45-50 games. That means we would have made some dramatic changes and we are playing better than average defense.
I'm tired of being a low level organization!!!!!!!!!!

^^^^ How do you think Clippers fans feel? I mean we've been to the finals twice this decade. I don't consider us a low level organization by any means. We have a good management structure in Thorn and Kiki and solid young players, a nationally known icon in Vince Carter, and a possible star waiting in the wings in Harris. The only knock on us is our coach right now in my opinion. We're in a rebuilding phase but I wouldn't ever call us a low level organzation. Until we're a consistent playoff team again, we're just a mid-level organization. We're not near the bottom of the barrell though.
To win 45-50 games, all we need is a solid starter to play next to Brook and 1 more solid 2 or 3 coming off the bench to go along with more defensive intensity. I wouldn't call that a dramatic change.

I dont worry about the clippers at all. My definition of low level is based on finances. everything this organization has done is based on finances and it will continue for awhile. Here we are another summer with expectations and no hopes of competing.
Why finances!!!!!!!!!!
Everything you metioned is true. I agree completely. But the reason why Frank is still around is because of finances they dont want to waste money on the buyout and paying a new coach. I knew that at the beginning of this review process with Thorn.
Here are the two things that prevent us from being a great team "Assists and Defense". For this past season we were near the bottom in the team assist category and the opposition had more against us. This is a very telling stat.
