Looks like every city seems to have their plans about Chris Paul.

First is was Dallas now it is Detroit.

I say we try to get into this too. I would prefer to send VC but if Harris has to go so be it.

I'm convinced that without Chris Paul that franchise will fold. Nobody goes to those games as it is and without Paul why would they?

That might be possible, but if they are thinking about it slightly, I hope Thorn smells the blood in the water.

Offer VC or Harris and whatever you want that isnt named Lopez.

While I don't think there's a chance in hell Paul gets dealt. I think its worth a shot.

Harris, Simmons, Hassell, Yi and pick #11 for Paul, Peja and MoPete works under the CBA.

Peja and MoPete have awful contracts, but they do expire after 2010/11. That along with Vince's club option, would put the Nets in position to have a ton of cap room in the summer of 2011 (a year before Lopez becomes a RFA). A trio of Paul, Lopez and Carmelo?

After first season sell-outs, the Hornets attendance started an immediate decline right up until Katrina, and many experts thought that its economic devestation would wreck the franchise. I was surprised to learn that this year, the Hornets attendance has been very good, and trhough February 3, they were up 34.3%, with a respectable average attendance of 16,729 and 97.3% capacity.

So how come they are lining up to get that loan from the NBA?

Because revenues are still too low, and they are losing cash. The Hornets team has done well, with a winning ballclub and one of the league's best young players, but the problem that they are having is that New Orleans is simply a small market (like 46th). They just don't have enough fans producing revenues through merchandising, advertising, etc. They are taking steps (they have a new logo sporting "NOLA" (New Orleans/Louisiana) to try to broaden appeal. However, I think they may share the fate of Memphis, and eventually Oklahoma City, where they simply don't have a big enough fanbase to support an NBA team, and are forced to make non-competitive moves to try to stay alive financially.

They'll gut the team and rebuild around Paul before he is ever dealt. They'll sell and relocate before Paul is ever dealt.

I think that is the point. This whole scenario will be talked about for a while esp. amongst the big boss' in this league because, now, there's a chance. Either way, the Hornets will lose Paul, if the issue is really true. Paul wouldn't be happy if the team ends up trading almost the most valuable piece of their team, besides him, and he knows that it's going to be hard to build a winning team again when they were almost close to it just a year ago, it's not going to be that easy esp. playing in the West, so the most logical choice for him is to ask for a trade, besides, who's there to worry about in New Orleans if he leaves? There's not much basketball fans there and that's actually the number one reason why they're still losing money eventhough the attendance went up.

Then, if they decided to trade him instead, which would be the wiser choice, they may still stay as a legit team depending on who's player they're getting in return, and for example, if they trade Paul to the Nets for, let's say, Harris and Carter and a pick, then i think that wouldn't be such a bad deal, you still have a talented PG, VC (who still sells tickets) and an always valuable pick, they would still have a playoff team, imo. For me, if the issue is true, i'd rather trade him than hold on to him and still lose him.

Or... still trade Harris and get a higer pick to get Rubio
I love his game.

^^^^^^Harris and VC can't get it done in the East so how are they gonna make the playoffs in the West. I would do that trade in a heart beat but i'm just sayin.

Look guys 1st of all just drop the Chris Paul ideas its not happening unless the Hornets Franchise just folds that guy is un-tradable.
2nd of all what's up with all those trade Harris ideas?
Guys we have a bonafide top 5 PG who'se still young and is only gonna improve so why do I keep hearing trade ideas with his name in them?

If there was any chance of getting Paul, Harris is getting traded. Sorry Adam. Paul > Harris

As far as Harris for Rubio, that depends on which team is gets the pick. Clearly there would have be more players involved and depending on those players. If the deal makes the nets better, Thorn would do it.

Only player that is untouchable on the NETS is Lopez.

It's your own opinion. You really can't just dislike a player by not even knowing his game.

I know you like Devin and yeah he's an Allstar, whatever, and i do like him too but i just feel that there's better players out there, more talented than he is. IMO, we just cannot pass on Rubio, he will be one of those players that only comes in every generation and i hope i'm wrong because the Nets, probably, are not gonna get him, i mean, why would Thorn trade up just to get Rubio when he already has Devin? And if ever he trades up, it might as well be for a number one pick to get Griffin. Yeah... yeah... I do get all that but im a big fan of Rubio and nobody can stop me from admiring his game, he's one of a kind, just the 1st time i've seen this guys game live he wowwed me already, something i've never seen from Harris (besides that half-court 3pt buzzer beater against the 76ers) and i've seen a lot from Kidd and Magic and that's why i made the comparison before but, of course, his game is not event close to theirs just yet, he's far from becoming an AS but a player that can already start in his rookie year.

Yeah, he may become one of those Euro bust, just like what you've said but you cannot deny the fact that he's the best PG in Europe right now, he's young, very talented and the best PG, scouted, all over the world, not just within our country, going to the NBA draft. Most mock draft have him 2nd pick overall and that alone says a lot about it and if im not mistaken, if taken at 2, he will become the 1st foreign PG taken that high in the NBA draft. He is no Planinic and he is better than most Euro PG that are already here and successful.

I sound like a broken record repeating everything i said about Rubio like he's paying me, but it just bothers me when people talk about Rubio like he's nothing, another Euro bust. This guy, when he plays in Europe, just in case you guys never experienced it or seen it, the atmosphere is different, he wows the crowd and there's just a lot of excitement to the game, not boring. He's the real deal.

Devin is a fantastic player, don't get me wrong but he needs to develop his shooting, he's fancy dribbling and speed won't get the job done. He needs to learn how to pass more, pass quicker and pass more accurately. For Brook to develop and although there's enough room for Devin to develop too, he still needs to shoot and pass the ball better and it's something i worry about because that's not his game, even in college at Wisconsin. And to be honest, i've seen a lot of thunderous dunks from him in college which i've rarely seen him do in this level, even when i know he could've slammed the ball in some plays, i just don't know why he opts to just lay the ball up. He can score the way he's been scoring and still put up crazy assists stats per game like Paul and Nash. We need to develop Brook and to do that, we need to feed him more. We need Brook to be a contender because he has the height, the touch and is strong enough and still gonna get stronger, so if he becomes that player then Devin needs to shoot and pass better and that's asking a lot from him, not his game.

Devin is an allstar but as a top 5 PG in the league right now? Maybe. Paul, Deron, Nash is still a great player, he didn't make the allstar but it doesn't mean he's not good anymore, it has more to do about their respective teams, and same goes with Billups, Mo Williams is a way better shooter, this guy seemed like he cannot miss but i will still put Devin over him. Rondo? Hmm... he just put up 2 triple doubles this playoffs, can Devin do the same? Maybe not. Plus, Rondo, right now, is a better defensive player, although, we know Devin is also a very good defensive player but, this year, he never really has shown that side of his game, it seemed to run away from him.

Overall, Paul would be the dream trade, good find. We need his kind of player not just someone with potential who rarely gets to play and still raw like "others" suggest. It's non sense, probably doesn't even want him afterall, lol.

Devin's defensive skills have suffered because he's relying too much on his offensive game and it's wearing him down. I agree, Devin has the ability to be a great player; but he has to let the game come to him. Lopez needs more touches and the ball needs to be in VCs hands more often. Harris needs to pick his spots to penetrate and not go "all out" all the time, because at times he looks out of control.

I'd take Paul over Harris any day of the week though. Paul is a true PG, but can still score when needed. Pass first, shoot second.

Except for 60, who IMO is drinking a little too much of the Rubio kool-aid (don't get me wrong, he'll be a good player), no one is looking to move Harris in anything other than a Chris Paul trade.

That's just me admiring a player. Hey, i've seen him live and he was amazing, so from that day on i've never forgotten his name, his one of them players that when you see them play when they were young and played spectacular, you'd remember them.

Of course I'd trade Devin for Paul. Just merely stating that the only trade proposals involving Harris are about Chris Paul.

I love Chris Paul, I love Devin, but Deron Williams is by far my favorite point guard in the NBA. I would kill to have him in a Nets uniform.

That's not to say I'm not happy with Devin. Devin is awesome. He has a chance to really help this franchise, we just need to get back to what we did best from a few years ago: Grind-it-out defense and an efficient offense. If we got more consistent play from our 3 and 4 positions, this would be fairly easy to achieve in my opinion.
