I like Harris a lot, but this year's point guard crop is deep and talented and Aldridge would be nearly a perfect fit next to Lopez. I just don't know if Portland would have any interest in making any changes of that magnitude to their squad with the relatively quick success they have had.
LMA and Batum would be great on your team and Devin Harris would obviously be a great fit for us. I would absolutely LOVE to get him since he is also one of my favourite players.
But as you said, we are a 54-win team and with that youth and talent it's hard to imagine we won't improve. I think KP sees Roy, Oden and LMA (if not for a better PF, though I wouldn't trade him + other pieces for Bosh/Amare since he is cheaper, younger, doesn't need to be "the man" and IMO won't be much worse than them) as the only "untouchables" on this team and in general wants to let our guys grow as a team. Besides, everybody in Portland has great faith in our twin towers LMA and Oden because they both have great potential and their styles of play match each other perfectly.
I'm not saying that the trade would be bad value but just that I can't see KP doing it because of our current team chemistry and the potential that this team has. It seems he definitely wants to improve the team but only wants to make minor adjustments to the roster.
Other reasons are that we'd be left with no PF (assuming we don't keep Frye) aside from maybe someone we get out of the draft (but since you would want our #24 pick, we would not be able to get Blair or even Gani Lawal). We'd have to get someone via free agency and I'm not sure how that trade would affect our cap situation. Would we be able to get Millsap, McDyess or Bass AND a somewhat serviceable backup PF?
And I personally wouldn't want to let Batum go. IMO he has great potential and will become a Tayshaun Prince type of player (perfect fit for us).
So I probably wouldn't do that trade. Although I must admit I have always dreamed about a Harris/Roy backcourt.
But back to the topic:
Dooling has been a really good acquistion for your team. But I don't think you should count on him as your starting PG of the future. If I were your team's GM I'd much rather keep Harris although a Maynor/Dooling PG rotation definitely intrigues me.
