If Boozer opts out, Im not sure Utah would be interested in a sign and trade since they would have to take back salary. That being said, we dont have enough cap space to sign him outright (assuming $10-$12 per year). What we could try and do is trade a plaer like Yi and/or SWAT to a team under the cap for a future pick or perhaps for an unguranteed contract like Atkins from OKC to create space as well. But even so, I dont think it creates enough cap space, even if we were to move both of them.

how about this guys
we trade carter yi and 11th pick to was for 5th
we select Curry,Harden,DeMar,Evans
then sign boozer (hopefully its not a sign and trade)

so this team would look like this
PG-Harris
SG-Curry,Harden,DeMar,Evans
SF-CDR or Simmons
PF-Boozer
C-Lopez

any thoughts on how to entice Utah into a S&T considering their cap/tax situation?

I'm not convinced Boozer is the answer. I'm not saying i have the answer. I just feel he will make us competitive not elite. But it is a step forward. This time of year is like sellin your house. You don't take the first offer, you take the best offer. That could well be six weeks away or more.

Cheers

i know. im not saying boozer by himself will get us a ring automatically, the nets still need some more pieces. boozer definately fills the role of one of those pieces and pending what happens in the draft and other possible trades would make the nets elite again.

The key here if he doesnt opt out that will make a good bargaining chip for Utah. Utah will have two PF that they can use to get other pieces. If you want Milsap then you may need to take AK off their hands or you get Boozer for expiring contracts.

Boozer himself would be an expiring contract. There'd be no reason for Utah to trade him for expirings.

Yes, but they wont keep two players at that position making considerable money between Milsap and Boozer.

It's possible they'd be looking to get more balanced, but unless you're trading Carter (who the Jazz might not afford), what are you offering them?

Any player who WANTS to play for the Nets is welcomed in my book. Bring Boozer to Jersey!

I'm not sure if we can trust Peter-V, but if there's any truth to this then... HOT DAMN, I'd be willing to trade anyone but Devin and Brook to be honest...

Agreed!

He'd be the perfect alongside Brook.

Yi, Simmons, and a couple of first rounders for Boozer.

Gotta get a SF or SG who can defend and make threes or else spacing will be off with Harris and CDR getting starters minutes. Jarvis Hayes shouldn't start.

Great post players need space.

The Jazz would not want Yi, he is soft and does not fit in with our system. If it happens I have a feeling that a trade that sends New Jersey Boozer would be a three way because outside of Lopez there is not much on your roster that interests us.
