How would you Nets fans like Blair with the 11th pick? He seems like a viable option there and fits well next to Lopez with his tenacity and rebounding. Or is Earl Clark or James Johnson more of what you are looking for?

I think Blair has things that are working against him. Height is the main factor.

I think a lot of Nets fans like him but dont think he is worth the 11 pick.

If we had slipped to the 14th, then maybe he would have been an option.

But Clark and Johnson are more valid options at the 11th barring from anyone dropping to us like last year.

I agree with previous post. I would be ok Balir at # 11 but only if Johnson and Clark are off the board. In my opnion, johnson should be the pikc, just becasue he seems to be more aggressive than Clark.

Im going with Mr. Clark. He has said he wants to play for New Jersey, his home state. How often do you see a player say they want to play for New Jersey??? I think that gives him a motivational edge to wanting to win playing for this team, unlike other fools like Eddie House and Alonzo Mourning.

I really dont care if a player wants to play in his hometown.

Marbury had two chances. Look where the got him.

Haha he said that when he was finally HERE for a few years...he dogged his pre-draft workout with us on purpose because he didn't want to come to Jersey, so he's kinda hypocritical. I'd rather take 6-7 years of Clark in a Nets jersey and ship him out than take someone I don't want.

Say hell no to Ty Lawson. On top of the fact we have no real need for a point guard, he probably isn't even a top 5 point guard out of this draft.

Would I hate Blair at 11? Not if he is really showing the all around improvement to his game that I have been reading about.
I still like James Johnson at 11, if he's still there.

I would still love us to trade up for either James Harden or Jordan Hill, they are my 2 favorites out of this draft after Blake Griffin. I think one of them will be very available at either the Washington pick and/or the Golden State pick.

There are some big names that I left out, cause I just don't like them as players. They might be more talented then a lot of guys on my list, but it doesn't mean they're the kinds of players you want on your team or you win with. Obviously this isn't the order the draft will go, I have a bunch of 2nd rounders in my top 30. I probably would have put a couple guys at the bottom a little higher in hindsight, but i forgot about them until the end of my list and I didn't feel like changing a bunch of #'s.

Note...Larry Johnson played the 3 for a lot of his career. The guy was extremely athletic for his size. He is a not a comparison for Blair in anything besides his physical stats.

I think Maxiell is a decent comparison.

Also note, most of these guys you listed are/will be career bench players. Millsap is the only one I feel can be a starting 4 in the NBA for a number of years. There just are not many PF's that short that every turned out to be more than a bench player. Even less I would say turned out to be an above average starter.

I don't know about those predraft measurements. How is it that some players are an inch shorter in socks then in shoes and some are 1.75 inches shorter and some are only .75 inches shorter? Are we to believe that some players are aloud to wear Timberland work boots to measure in shoes, while others wear Ewings, a few in boat shoes, a couple in high heels, others in LA Gears and one in Clarks Wallabees? Maybe some of the players were gellin'?

If they are correct and I am even further down on Blair, coming in at a paltry 6'5.25 with limited athleticism? Yuck!

LJ was actually primarily a 4. He rarely played SF, especially since he lost a lot of his athleticism early in his career due to back problems. I do agree that the comparison is not a good one. For one, LJ was extremely quick and explosive. Two, LJ had an inside/out game (plus handle the rock). Three, stats might be the same, but one look at LJ's physique and Blair's physique should tell anyone that they really don't have the same build.

At the 11 spot, it would almost be criminal to pick him. Clark blows him out of the water in measurements and also skills. If the rationale is taking the BPA it simply isn't Blair at that point. if they want him, trade down and get him, though I think the Nets should pick Jon Brockman with their second round pick and Clark with their first. Brockman is a better rebounder than Blair.

We don't have a 2nd round pick. Also, I don't know that anyone currently in college could be considered a better rebounder then Blair. I would take Clark ahead of Blair as well.
