A Suns' fan proposal

I will take YI, Anderson, #11 and Simmons for Amare. That is 2 young players and a number one. I like it better than Jamison (33) and the #5, Why? One, Kerr is crazy. He is gonna sign Nash to an extension over Amare, oh well. Two, Yi is a bust in your offense. I think our style of play is perfect for him. Yao actually said that. Three, Anderson is there if YI fails again. Four, We get 10 million savings in 2010 to go along with the #11 (Flynn). So we would have Yi, and Anderson to fill that spot and save Sarver money. They resign Nash, if Nash takes 10 million per for 3 yrs, Suns save 3 million. Let Shaq expire in 2010, that is another 21 million, for a total of 34 MILLION DOLLARS!!! Draft Earl Clark at 14. Anderson and Yi spread the floor for Shaq, Suns make the playoffs and are players in 2010.

Nash/Flynn/Dragic
JRich/LB
Hill/Clark/Dudley
Anderson/Yi
Shaq/Lopez

You Guys

Harris
Vince
Amare
Lopez Ready to compete this year in the East!!!!!

not sure he wants to play in NJ. There were defintely discussions near trade deadline..not really sure what happened. Rumors circulated that nets were concerned about him signing an extension and also concerned about his knees. Also, rumors that PHX really doesnt want to move him

This is actually the exact deal that Kerr offered at the deadline and Kiki and Thorn turned it down, saying it wasn't the direction we were looking to go with our team right now.

I checked this, give us Dragic in the deal and it still works. No point having him if you got Flynn and we need another PG.

Now, I would consider the original deal and likely do it, but I guarantee Thorn will try with all his might to give you Swat/Boone or even GSW's pick before giving up Anderson. He adds a dimension to the front court we don't have an would be great coming off the bench.

^^^I disagree the marketing is more beneficial to the organization. Anderson would be easier to trade than YI.

If I had to choose, I'd rather have the deal Washington offered you guys, and they'd probably go for it. Truthfully, as cap-strapped as they are already and with Blatche, McGee, Pecherov and McGuire to develop in the frontcourt, I'll bet they wouldn't even need Yi or Anderson. Something as simple as Simmons/Hassell/#11 for Jamison/James/#5 could seriously interest Grunfeld and Co.

Draft Harden, and go with a lineup like this:

Harris, Harden, Carter, Jamison, Lopez
Dooling, Roberts, Hayes, Najera, Boone

That's a pretty darn good lineup, perfectly suited for the DDM, and we're still under the luxury tax.

How does this help Washington? They are trading their pick to get better. Give up Jamison and the #5 for the #11 and filler?? A straight salary dump. You don't do that unless you are rebuilding.

You can never have enough PGs. I think he is coming along. I want a PG, because it is PG heavy and you never know.

BTW, to that earlier post on KiKi turning down this deal in Feb, I don't think that is the way it went down. If he turned this down in Feb (before the eye??!!), he needs to be fired!

The Wizards FO does not want to pay another year of dollar-for-dollar penalties, and are ready to strip salary. There were rumors earlier this week, that Washington is willing to part with the #5 in order to get below the luxury tax. One such rumor involved Dallas, with the Wizards getting Stackhouse's non-guaranteed deal plus the 22nd pick for Stevenson and the #5.

This deal gives them even more capspace than that one, and returns a better pick. Also, Deshawn is one of the only defenders on their lineup, but Jamison's scoring could easily be replaced with Gil's return and Blatche's development.

Now, I wouldn't mind doing an opposite deal, where WE cut salary (like Carter/Hayes/Boone for Thomas/James/Songaila/#5). WAS fans seem to like that type of win-now deal better, too, but their GM Ernie Grunfeld is not looking in this direction at all. If we have to absorb salary, and I can't imagine us getting a better deal for it than the one I outlined before.

Yi is a cash cow, and Kiki sees shades of himself in Ryan. Regardless, both were impressive youngsters when they weren't nursing injuries, and no one is going to trade players are good as either of these young bigmen (let alone both) for Cyclops.

Just curious, I know we always discuss Yi's marketing ability (he's like the 3rd most popular person in China), but has anyone ever seen physical numbers on how much money he actually makes this organization or do we only take beat writers word for it? I know he brings in revenue, but I am surprised the season is over and we haven't seen any articles showing concrete evidence.

i think there are 3 revenue streams with YI

1) Chinese advertisers - this is what we hear most about
2) License rightds to broadcast Nets games in China
3) Jerseys/posters, etc, etc - dont see much of that around here however

I have to be honest - I dont think there is enough $ coming in to preclude trading him to imptove the team. Whatver he brings in from 1-3 above is gravy and and this point, whatever he provides on the court is gravy as well

Yeah I know Yormack is in China right now (or will be very soon). He's negotiating a TV deal to show at least all Nets home games I think and to sell ad space on the rotating signs on the scorer's table. I think if that trip is successful (Yormack usually gets what he wants from what I read about him) then we'll start seeing what Yi does for this organization off the court.

What should be interesting this offseason is that Yao isn't playing in the Asia championships or whatever tourny Yi is playing in with the Chinese national team this summer. They do have some decent players, but I think Yi is going to have to be a major focal point. Should be interesting to see how he performs.

I hope you guys make a lot of money with Yi!!! He won't help you win games (in that style), but hey, you guys get to split the Nets earnings right??

Thank you. I've been saying this for awhile. But the argument around here is that PHX take on salary. I've been saying they don't. Not sure if I would be keen on giving up Anderson more likely give you Boone Or Williams
