McGrady-to-NJ Trade

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Wed Jul 1, 2009 8:18 pm

What do you think of this proposal?

T-Mac/Lowry/Dorsey for Simmons/Hassell/Dooling/Sean

We get a young, quick PG defender, a "moose" type of bench big, and a mentor for our young wings. In 2010, if free agency goes our way, Courtney would be best served coming off the bench with CDR IMO. With this deal, we fast-track that process.

Harris, Williams, McGrady, Jianlian, Lopez
Alston, Lee, Roberts, Dorsey, Boone
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

I wouldnt do the trade personally, mcgrady isnt reliable enough at this point in his career to stay healthy long enough. and you really think terrance williams will start ahead of lee? I dont know i think lee would have the advantage as of now.

Trading for Tmac is no longer necessary.

Lowry would be nice but with Harris, CDR, Lee, Twill, I dont think we need another young guard.

Dorsey did he play last year. I would rather Landry.

absolutely no to this deal. already posted detailed response on the trade board. It makes zero sense on so many different levels.

Am I the only one who thinks that Tmac is over rated? After watching him for so many years..its amazing how people think hes so good with the amount of shots he jacks up to score 20. Sure he gets hot once in a while and can put up 30 or 40, but trenton hassell could score 20 with that many shots. He is a cancer to any team he goes to.

On a side note, this still does not change my thoughts, but this is amazing.

I wouldn't call him a "cancer," but he doesn't know how to elevate his teammates. He lacks the skill in leadership. He really is a hired gun, but I do think he cares unlike "cancers." The problem lies in how he cannot motivate others. He's a good player, but you're right he's overrated in some respect. In his prime before injuries though, I honestly only put Kobe as a better pure scorer ahead of him out of everyone in this league.

Iverson In Philly seemed as pure as it gets. But him on the Magic and the early days of Houston, he was pretty fun to watch.

Yeah Tracy's 62 point game in Orlando was great...but his 13 points in 35 seconds AGAINST THE SPURS was honestly one of the most electrifying scenes I've seen in the NBA in the 26 years I've been on this Earth.

I'm down like a clown if we can get Dooling and Sean out of there.

T-Mac and Dorsey for Simmons, Hassell, Yi and Boone.

There's no way Houston does that. :(

I would.
Dude is a cancer and has caused problems everywhere he has been.
Caused problems in Toronto because Carter was the man and he wanted to be.
Went on a whiny, little bitchmade tirade in Orlando and forced his trade, saying he was going to retire among other idiotic statements.
He has never cared and he never has put in any work in the offseason, including the fact he is never conditioned, one of the reasons he is always injured. He even has said in intervies how he didn't give 100% on numerous occasions, but for some reason the media didn't decide to vilify him the way they chose to alienate Carter.
Dude picked the Lakers against his own team in the playoffs, even if the comments were taken slightly out of context, he still said it.
He announced to the media he would be having season ending surgery before he even consulted with his team to block a trade to NJ for Carter.
If these things and a bunch of others not mentioned don't define a cancer to you, I don't know what does.

I rather not do this deal, we have a young core and the cap space for a free agent in '10 sweepstakes.

Besides isn't he like never going to be the same after those injuries he suffered or somethin?
