Re: Where can i watch the nets summer league game
We're sharing a summer league squad with another team this summer, but I forget with who.
Anyone know? I thought it might have been the Sixers?

Yeah it's the sixers. Too bad we don't really have a quality guy on the summer league roster who can play the 4 and 5. Chris Johnson is intriguing. I was hoping we could package Najera with either Boone or SWAT to nab a player and open a roster spot, but I bet that won't happen.

I'm also interested in Jeff Adrien.

I like Jeff Adrien a lot too actually. I just wish he was taller. I'm hoping we can clear a spot and add a physical bruiser down low. Granted I'm probably getting ahead of myself...if we cleared a spot, the kid will probably spend the bulk of the season in the d-league or in a suit unless we have some injuries.

Then there's a big button in the top right corner that you need to click. That's it.

These are the most unbearable announcers I've ever heard. I know it's a summer league game but wow.

I think these guys are flatout hilarious.
They called Roy Hibbert "frying pan hands".

Re: The Official Netsixers Summer League Thread
Here are my initial reactions from Game 1:
GAME 1:
Chris Douglas-Roberts -
Could get into the lane at will but still had trouble finishing around the basket. Did not look to create for others. Scored the majority of his points off the dribble as opposed to spot-up or catch-and-shoot opportunities. Seemed to get frustrated with Speights and as a result played a bit selfishly at times. Had a couple of nice defensive sequences against Brandon Rush.
Terrence Williams -
In the half-court Williams looked a bit lost. Release on jumper seemed slow and flat. Good speed in the open court. No real effort to attack the basket was made. Didn't see or handle the ball that often so could not show off his passing skills.
Jrue Holiday -
Decision making needs a lot of improvement. Did a poor job running the offense. Didn't attack the basket or get others involved. Handle was a bit suspect, losing the ball on two of the most critical possessions of the game. Is turnover prone. Jumper is broke. Great on-ball defense.
Marreese Speights -
A man possessed for much of the game. Speights did the majority of his work from the perimeter nailing uncontested perimeter jumpers. In the post / around the basket Speights did not finish with authority or attack his man. Had some nice plays on defense, is not the type of intimidating presence that a Brook Lopez is but still managed to alter / block some shots. In general did not look to pass or create for others, played selfishly to begin the game as he cooled off from the perimeter he became a complete non-factor.
Brandon Rush -
Settled for perimeter jumper far too often. Didn't make presence felt. Appeared to be rather disinterested in game.
Josh McRoberts -
Had the dunk of the game. More athletic than he looks. Has impressive handles for a player 6-10. Displayed some creative passing at times. Did little to nothing on offense. Oftentimes played out of control / without a purpose.
Roy Hibbert -
For the majority of the game was irrelevant. Can not create his own offense. Did not use his size well on defense. Doesn't look to box-out his man when going for rebounds. Had a nice stretch towards the end of the game which included two powerful dunks and nice jump hook with about 1 minute to go in regulation.
Tyler Hansbrough -
Was surprisingly quick with his moves on offense elevation when given time to gather is good (threw down two nice dunks, one on a fastbreak the other on a backdoor cut). Great hands, footwork, fundamentals. Good form on jumper, nice array of post moves. Good strength but had trouble elevating in traffic. Some awkward off-balance finishes that would have been blocked against more athletic competition. Though his intensity was good, Tyler slowed down as the game progressed and was never much of a factor on the boards.

I've been complaining about that all 4 years I had to watch him. Even the few times I met him at the bars in Chapel Hill, he had a hard time keeping his balance, but against what you said, it's due to his footwork. He doesn't have any quick to be able to create proper space in the NBA. He wasn't going up against guys his size or athletic shot blockers every night in college so he could get by on his shotty footwork and odd angles he takes. This makes him take a much more harder shot than needed. Now because the lack of shot blockers and people that can make his intensity in college, he was able to get by with these problems. I'll admit, the guy hits A LOT of tough shots, but again they don't have to be tough shots. He's a tough kid so he'll work on this, but he's the most polished project I've ever seen. Thank God he has a decent mid range game.

Re: The Official Netsixers Summer League Thread
What was the final anyway. Does anyone have the link to the box score year?
::Edit::
Here's the link:

Somebody please tell me why Speights is taking 26 shots? Does he think he's AI or something?
It Terrence had his jumper working, that would have been a solid all-around game.
I don't think it was so bad for the first time playing when most of these guys only practiced with each other for 3-4 days prior. It's hard to build chemistry in that time. Plus, I don't really consider any of the PG's on this roster a "true pg" so I'm not surprised by the lack of chemistry. It's usually easier to gel when you have a quality facilitator on the court with you. Where is Jaycee Carroll?

I really don't know what Speights was thinking it was like he was out there to shatter the summer league scoring record
!
If he wanted to make a point that he can hit the outside shot then fine, point proven. But for the love of God pass the ball once in a while... He was looking like Zach Randolph without the low-post scoring ability today...

I'm pretty sure Lee and Lopez are NOT going to play in summer league. It would have been fun to see them play but with the Nets sharing a team much of Lee and Lopez's minutes would probably have come at the expense of CDR and T-Will, two guys who need this experience more than L&L.

Didnt watch it...but 2 points in 35 mintues? Are you Kidding me terrance williams?
I saw that someone said that CDR was a little selfish at times...I think thats good because its the summer leauge with a half sixer roster...i think we saw at the end of last year that CDR is a good all around player and a good team mate. And where the hell is Josh Boone and Yi? Both of them still need to get better. I dont want to say they suck but...they should be on this team.
