NJN gets:
Tony Allen
Brian Scalabrine
Pruitt or Giddens

they trade away dooling who is a duplication of alston, and still has 1 more year on his contract for a slasher at sg who can be really good given the pt.

lopez/yi/simmons/lee/harris
boone/najera/hassell/allen/alston

BOS gets:
Jarvis Hayes
Keyon Dooling

celtics get a long back-up pg and a tall sf who can defend and shoot the ball.

perkins/kg/pierce/allen/rondo
sheed/big baby/hayes/house/dooling

(1) Dooling's contrcat is only $500K guranteed in 2010.
(2) Explain how the talent swap is even remotely close?

Those three together couldn't get you Hayes or Dooling from a talent standpoint.

NJ passes easily on this.

I'm guessing you were unaware of it, so just so you know... Only $500,000 of Dooling's contract next year is guaranteed.

Unless NJ really likes Giddons or Pruit, this deal is a no-go.

Only $500K of Dooling's 2010/11 salary is guaranteed. So as a result, the future savings is minimal and it costs them money this year.

NJ counters with Dooling, Hayes and Najera for Allen, Veal and Giddons

I'd give up one of Hayes or Dooling in that deal but no both =\

I think Hayes has gotten a little overrated on these boards. Some of it is justified considering the utter garbage that has littered our bench in recent years. Tony Allen will drive you up the wall with his turnovers, but I don't think it's much of a downgrade, from Hayes. For what it's worth, Allen even had a higher PER than Hayes last season.

I'd prefer to only trade Hayes or Dooling to dump Najera, but I'd rather trade both than have to sacrifice Boone, SWAT or the GS pick. We have a lot more depth at guard than up front.

A lot of people are talking about the possibility of 2 max players. With the uncertainty of the cap, I don't know if the money is quite there to do it. Considering this deal trims an additional $3.5 million off, I'm not letting a Hayes/Allen swap kill it.
