viewtopic.php?f=11&t=922462I was not threatening. I did not curse. I did not even say the Nets were one of Lebron's most likely destinations.

Lebron leaving is a sensitive subject to ANY Cavs fan. I live with a Cavs fan (he's from Cleveland so he's legit) and he even gets pissed if I joke about it. I know you were just trying to make the hypothetical "If Lebron left" scenario, but they don't want to hear it. A lot of them are in denial that he may leave (I respect them for being pissed off but the ones that say "He's building a house here" is just (Please Use More Appropriate Word)) and the other half are probably burnt out because the NBA has been talking about next summer for 2 years now.
I'm not surprised it was locked. I'm sure if you met a Cav's fan in real life, he'd talk to you about it, but they don't want to talk about it on their board.

That thread had major Fail written all over it on the Cavs board.
Forget about the fact that is a very touchy subject over their, Cavs fans in general are a bunch of little homerific emotional girls.
Good luck trying to have a reasonable convo with them, even on the General or Trade boards save for a select few.

I guess you are right. I understand that many might be in denial or become upset at the mention of the possibility. But, I have friends who are Cavs fans who know he will leave. They expect it as Cleveland has been tortured for years. I am sure Cleveland will shop him if it looks like he will leave. I can definitely see Cleveland finally making the right move and trading Lebron if need be. I just hope that all goes according to the Brooklyn plan and he becomes a FA and brings Wade/Bosh with him to Brooklyn/NJ (for the year before Brooklyn is finished).
Let's discuss this here. What would you do if you were Cleveland?

I think trading Lebron is the worst thing you can do. Yeah you'll get a a lot value for him, but, I'm pretty sure the fanbase would cut in half. By trading him the organization itself becomes the bad guy by trading away their franchise player. It'd be best if they would just let him walk, that way the fanbase would despise Lebron and not the team.

Pretty stupid to lock that thread, IMO. I work with a Cavs fan who expects him to leave. Could some be sensitive to it? Yeah, but that doesn't mean a thread gets locked. Way too sensitive, damn. Also, they're not going to trade him. No chance. I could see why people would just tell you to go away and it's a stupid idea to suggest a trade but I'm sure there are rules to a locked thread and that shouldn't have crossed any.
(And I don't agree with the Kidd example because we kept him and let him ride out his contract and then risked losing him)

I personally wouldn't have locked it, but every moderator has tendencies. I tend to lock threads that really won't bring up intelligent replies or threads that have topics discussed in other threads or things that have nothing to do with Nets basketball. Right posting in the right place at the right time.
