Hi everyone... I just want to share my opinion regarding our cap for this year and next year, and the FA's for this year and next. First i like the idea of some fans signing two max FA's next season or S & T Boozer and hopefully he can sign with us again next year and sign another top FA next year or two, if possible per Enetric, and that's, of course, if the ownership can pull the BK move.
Based on what i've read... some knowledgeable fans here thinks that we have about 24-27 million dollars, roughly, to spend next year and thats without any move for this year. Im thinking, although Millsap is not one of the top FA's, on a superstar level, that we want to have, maybe it'll be a better move if the management would've signed him instead of pushing for two max top FA's next season. There may be a way to make it work but im worried that if we're able to sign two top 5 FA's, we wouldn't be able to get the best out of Harris and Lopez or i could be wrong and it may very well skyrocket their skills with the help of those FA's. I just think that one Wade and a Millsap along with Lopez and Harris and the future picks, we're going to be able to compete for the title. Also, with Millsap for only 8-9 million dollars plus Wade, we would still have some more cash to spend to keep the remaining bench players after the expiring players are gone.
Btw, Millsap is one of my favorite players. He's one of them players that always manage to get the ball or lucky enough to always be in the position to get ball. He's the moose that we always covet and he would really help us a lot. What a pick up by the Blazers if the Jazz are unable to do something.

Re: Paul Millsap
All the Nets had to sign Millsap with is the MLE...
So the max we could have offered him was:
$5,854,000
$6,322,320
$6,790,640
$7,258,960 (Total after 4 years = $26,225,920)
$7,727,280 (Total after 5 years = $33,953,200)
By comparison he's getting $32-$36 million over 4 years from the Blazers...
I figure what the Nets do if they were going to use the MLE to sign Millsap is offer him the 4 year deal so:
$5,854,000
$6,322,320
$6,790,640
$7,258,960 (Total after 4 years = $26,225,920)
With a player option for the 5th year, which would most likely be declined unless Millsap got hurt / decided to suck for the rest of his career.
Anyway we're looking at a $8-$10 million $ difference between what the Nets could have potentially offered and what the Blazers offer...
Oh did I mention that Millsap is a restricted free agent?
I'm 90% sure that if someone threw the full MLE at Millsap AND got him to agree with it, the Jazz would immediately match.
He'd be nice here, but it just wasn't possible to get him =\

@NetsForce
I was just wondering if we offered a contract like this to Glen Big Cry Baby Davis could Boston offer him more?

I don't think Glen is worth that kind of money, but other people will probably disagree.

Davis is an early-bird free agent, the most the Celtics can resign him for is to a 5 year contract for the MLE with 10.5% raises... By contract the Nets could offer a 5 year contract worth the full MLE with 8% raises...
In total the Celtics could give Davis a 5 year contract worth $35.41 million, the Nets could offer Davis a 5 year deal worth $33.95 million.
