Since were trying to save money here, can't we just waive Simmons and Hassell's contract so we can save some money since they aren't going to be part of our future?

No, we need them in case of a blcokbuster trade in order to have the necessary expirings to absorb salary.
I possibly could see them getting bought out after the trade deadline though.

But we can waive them right?

What does it matter... Lee, Alston, Williams, Harris and Lopez is the only real talent on yall team... Alston and Battie will leave cuz they are in the last year of their contracts and yall gonna suck a** this year.. Worst team in the league... Guarentee it... Everyone else had made moves to get better and yall and Sacramento will be the worst teams in the league... Also young teams make stupid mistakes and no offense to Harris, I dont think hes capable of leading a team now and hes injury prone...

There contracts are guaranteed so Simmons for example would get his $11 million from the Nets whether he is part of the team or whether he is waived...

I think what you were getting at is can we agree to a buyout with them, where they take less money in order to GTFO the Nets...

In Trenton's case I see no reason why he'd take a penny less than he has coming his way as his career is basically done, Simmons might agree to a slight paycut but it wouldn't be that significant.

If you're going to buy them out I'd first look to trade them for a smaller salary (someone like Q-Rich or Kenny Thomas for Bobby Simmons, works, or is close to working) and then buy out the smaller salaried player.
