Sleepers that Thorn may really be looking at.

Post#1 » by S.I.C. GM » Tue Jul 21, 2009 8:59 pm

Gooden is still out there. Why hasnt he been mentioned at all this off season.

I wouldnt mind him instead of Big Baby. Is thorn not mentioning him hoping that he gets no interest.

Harris, Lee, Twill, Gooden, Lopez

That isnt bad at all.

Diogu is another one. How long is Thorn going to wait for this guy. I think he could be a cheap moose.

Diogu on a one year deal would be fine. I actually like Gooden but only on a contender looking for a rebounder and decent offensive PF.

If we're signing any of these mediocre bigs I only would want Powe or Diogu on 1 year deals, possibly longer, but they have to be team options or unguaranteed after the 1st year, or Najera must be moved before the offseason for an expiring.

I could live with Powe for a year, Diogu is trash though... I don't know how many teams this dude is going to have to fail on before people realize it.

I agree, Diogu is trash, but for some reason I still have a special place for him in my heart.

My advice to you... Cut that piece of your heart out:

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/393 ... cbcPQgPaB4

I mean what use is an under-sized big man who is a poor rebounder, shot-blocker, passer, playmaker, and defender :=\

Did I mention that he's always been overweight?

Diogu can score well in spurts but he's got more holes than a Gothic Chick.

Look up his ppg per 48 min and you will be amazed. Partly..he gets injured at the wrong times but part of lt..teams fail to get he's a relentless inside scorer..not a guy who's 20 ft out setting picks.

Rather than let him be a 20 ppg PF...there's been this odd impulse to make him an undersize 3rd Center.
CENSORED... No comment.

Yeah I know E sweats on Diogu too. He was in my top 3 in the draft the year he came out, but I haven't seen enough of him to see how he is now.

I really don't see us signing anyone we already have 15 guys on the roster.

I'm praying we can move Najera/Swat or Najera/Boone package to clear a roster spot and bring in another expiring vet to help our young kids this season. I may not even sign someone if we cleared a roster spot though. They'd likely be wearing a suit all season anyway. I'd rather just wait for someone to get hurt then call people up from the D-League.
