Nets get some love from D Wade

The Knicks have appeal, especially with the whole New York package, Wade claimed. But don't discount the Nets -- at least for other free agents.

"It's a good organization," Wade said of New Jersey. "It's a class organization and when the time is right, they're going to go get the players they need to get. I think people around the league see that. They've had success, especially when J. Kidd was here . . . so everyone knows this organization has the want to be great. It's just about if they get the players. They've got some now. Devin Harris is a great, great star. He's a centerpiece."

There's a problem for the Knicks: the roster. Both the Nets and Knicks will have $20-plus million to spend. But the Nets have Harris, Brook Lopez and Courtney Lee, all young studs, already in place.

"Guys know they (Nets) will be in the mix because they're setting themselves up to be there," Wade said. "It's not a bad city. There's going to be some chatter about the Nets when they come around. I know the main chatter right now is about the other side, New York, but I'm sure the Nets are going to get some love as well."

For some reason, I could never see Dwade in New Jersey. That would just make me too happy I think. And since my teams often make me miserable, I just figured that would never happen lol. At this point, I honestly think the Nets are going to get an above average player next summer to play the 3, but it'll most likely be a guy who everyone knows is pretty damn good, but hasn't really got the chance to shine. Kind of like Joe Johnson when he went to Atlanta in a way. I am too lazy to think who that will be though in this upcoming free agent class.

Yeah we got no shot at Wade but someone like Gay or Prince maybe.

I'm starting to think more and more that if we miss out on Bron and Bosh, we go with Gay in a S&T for a slight overpay and Boozer for 4 years, maybe a 5th year partially guaranteed at a reasonable rate, although again a slight overpay. Something like 4 years for 55 mill with a 5th year guaranteed for only 4 million. I will say though, that if LMA is still a free agent in the 2010 offseason when all is said and done he is likely our 3rd target after Bron and Bosh. another S&t likely if that was the case, but that's fine with me, kid is so underrated and he's still so young with untapped potential and he is already a player and he has the legit size, length and athleticism to dominate for years and has the perfect polar opposite to Lopez' game to fit nicely right alongside him.

Jac, I agree with you, but Wade is an idiot. By saying this now, Miami doesnt feel the pressure of making a better team around him.

Unfortunately, he should keep his options open. I also think Chicago will have a good chance to get him, but you should never say close doors when negotiating.

See I read it differently. He is just trying to shrug off reports asking about him. It's gotta be annoying for him to keep getting questions about next summer. Right now, he's focused on this season. He's already voiced a few times this summer he expects Miami to make the moves to put the guys around him if they hope to keep him after the season. He isn't a very public guy like Lebron is so he's deflecting potential drama inside the organization for the next 10 months. Let's say you were a big shot in your company to where a lot of people in your industry knew who you were. If you came out and said you'd be interested in going to a rival in 10 months and it was printed in the papers, you know how fun your job would be (if you still had one lol) when you arrived at work the following day.

Crisis management. He's just downplaying everything in a better way than Lebron has ever done.
