Unrelated picture of the day:

With a back-to-back (Friday-Saturday) against the Magic and Wizards looming, it's important that the Nets start the season off on the right foot.
Lopez vs. Jefferson will be a fun matchup to watch.

Think we're going to start off the season with a lineup of Harris/Lee/CDR/Yi/Lopez?

That would be my best guess of what the starting lineup is going to look like... In some ways I'd prefer if Terrence Williams started over CDR as it would force him to become a more effective player when the ball is not in his hands.
I think that defensively he'd also help set the tone from the get-go...

Yeah i could see that as well since T-will would probably be a bit more physical than CDR but either one i think will do in the lineup. Especially if it's between them starting and playing a lot of minutes I would rather have them then Simmons.

It's hard to say:
Oct 25 Jefferson (Achilles) was not able to finish Sunday's practice and his status for Wednesday's season opener is uncertain. "I have no idea [if he can play Wednesday]," head coach Kurt Rambis told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "His illness is a non issue. His Achilles is what we're addressing now and we're helping him work through that."
Recommendation: Jefferson didn't play in the final two preseason games due to a sore Achilles tendon and also came down with the flu while he was out. It was assumed he'd be ready to play Wednesday, but it looks like this could sideline him a game or two or cause him to limit his workload early in the season.
Originally it appeared as though RealGM (and other news sources) were overblowing the injury and that Al would be good to go, according to that update from Yahoo his status is still up in the air.
If Al Jefferson is out though... This team can not lose on Wednesday; to do so would be a failure of Isiah Thomas level proportions.
On another note why would you watch the World Series when you could be watching Yi Jianlian put the world on notice? instead

T. Will might fit better in the starting line up with his D, rebounding, and passing but I don't see how we can pull CDR he's looks ready for a monster year scoring the ball. Let him start for now but he may very well fit the mold of that perfect sixth man. Tough call but CDR gets the nod for now.

Twill needs to be in the starting lineup.
If Frank is really dedicated to Defense, HE needs to start Twill. CDR right now is an offensive threat. If Frank starts CDR, it will prove that he is FULL OF $HIT about all that DEFENSE TALK.
Harris, Lee, TWill, Yi, Lopez that should be the starting line up.
No need for more offense in the starting lineup. Tell CDR he is going to be their 6th man and will get 20+ min a game. Frank will show how weak and desperate he is if he starts CDR.
Second Unit
Alston, CDR, Hayes, Battie, Boone/Swat
Third Unit
Dooling, Hassel, Simmons, Najera, Boone/Swat
Bench Warmers
Simmons, Hassel, Boone/Swat, Najera, Dooling(until recovered)

Not for nothing but CDR has been playing some great defense.

Good luck to the Nets from a Wolves fan. Couple of rebuilding teams going at it. Sucks that we don't have Love or Jefferson, but I think the Wolves are gonna put up a decent fight...Brewer and Flynn have been hot in preseason so hopefully we both get to watch a good game.

u guys might look at me crazy but i think we'd be better starting off simmions, and then let twill and CDR play at the same time...

You're crazy..
Bobby Simmons blows on defense and his offense consists of camping out at the 3 point line for the kick out and the occasional mid range jump shot that he misses i9 out of 10 times..
Say no to Bobby Simmons..

Yi's gonna go off if Devin looks to pass which he should, save it for when they need him to carry the load.
Brook will have a solid night 15 points easy 10 rebounds 3 blocks.
Not so confident CDR hope his play in the preseason translates.
Most improved player I'm calling it now!
What's wrong with Kevin Love?

Wolves Mod here.
Love had surgery on his hand.
Al's injury is not holding him back, the flu is. He still might likely play.
Flynn and Ellingson went to the Dr with flu symptoms today.
Brewer had a great Pre-season. Should be an interesting game.

I have yet to see a Nets preseason game becauase of work and im going to miss this game and most likley friday and saturday due to halloween parties but good thing i just got a DVR

I like the Iggy comparision and I will pray that he turns out to be that good, but his 3pt shot has been pretty inconsistent this preseaon. I have a feeling if he works out with CDR (he was in the gym everyday it seemed) his shot will improve. Another thing is that he didn't take good looks many of his shots were off the dribble with a defender nearby, that will also lower your %. What stood out is his ability to rebound. I watched him get up a few times and rip the ball away from bigger guys on numerous occasions. Offensive game is raw but man he does other things very impressively. (Pass, Rebound and Defend)

this is OT kinda, but what do you guys expect out of Yi? i know he had a nice preseason, but what kind of production do you think he can/will bring to the Nets?
reason being is i have him on my fantasy team and i want to know if i should start him this week

I'm expecting:
12 ppg 7 rpg 0.7 spg 1 bpg 1 3ptm, on something like 43% shooting.
Next year is when we see whether Yi makes the jump or pretty much levels off at around his current production.
Who are you considering sitting and what does your team look like?
