Around the NBA [General NBA & Shanxi Zhongyu/Marbury Talk]

Other boards have this thread, but we don't :(

As the official Ryan Anderson "Hater" I'd like to start things off by dedicating this thread to Ryan Anderson and his 2-14 shooting performance :D...

But on a more serious note did anyone see Dirk drop in 29 pts in the fourth quarter?! :o

It's like he knew the Mavericks were in danger of giving the Nets a better pick so he just went off.

I'm never gonna hate on Ryan Anderson for a poor shooting night. He's average 16ppg prior to that and was shooting great. That is what he's supposed to do on that team. Hustle on Defense and spread the floor on offense. His role on offense is basically "shoot the 3 if you're open when Dwight or Vince are passing out of a double team." Some nights you're on, some nights you're off. It's as simple as that. Ryan is making big contributions on a playoff team early on.

Yes when Lewis is back and more in rhythm his role will be reduced a little, but teams still need to key in on him when Ryan is on the floor.

I'll never hate Ryan. You can tell he's a class act.

Anderson with a 20/10 spot.

Watching the Memphis/GSW game right now, Rudy Gay's man defense is just hideous.

You know I was tempted not to drop Morrow since I saw he was going up against the Grizzlies, but he's to much of a one-trick pony when he's not starting so I said screw it.

ROY HIBBERT was in da buildin today... It looks like Larry Bird err Danilo Gallinari is coming back down to earth too...

Anderson has been playing well I'm happy for him.
Rockets are 3-2 really? Is Ariza the real deal?
No way Gallinari keeps playing the way he did the first week.

Brook is in desperate need of some help. T.WIll has been playing solid, CDR has picked it up, and everyone else is invisible right now.

C. Lee's shooting will turn around hopefully sooner then later, I think he needs to attack the rim more which should help with his jumper.

He's alright. It's just what you call outstanding coaching.

Ariza's play will drop off considerably as the season wears on, the Rockets will still be a competent competitive team though.

Just about every player on that team is a workhorse, that group of guys might not be the greatest group of athletes but the work ethic of that team is second to none.

And they are also coached up to the utmost degree.

I think it would be interesting to see what Jeff Van Gundy would do with this team. He managed to get Steve Francis and Yao to work together, so I'd like to see if he could get Harris and Brook to click (well I mean those two already click so this point is kind of moot) AND get the team to play excellent defense.

Honestly, Van Gundy would be my first choice if Frank was fired.

I like Van Gundy, would be a decent choice for sure.

So am I the only one who though there was easily no foul on that last play of the Cavs game when 'Bron turned the ball over?

I mean from what I saw Noah went straight up, and Lebron just lost the ball... Yeah the dude tried to yell and sell but it looked like a clean contest to me...

Yeah. That was a good game though for sure.

Looks like the Blazers will win this one but DAMN RJ posterized Oden with that dunk.

I agree with this. You see his stat line last night....but did you see how much they lost buy? That's gonna piss him off J-Kidd style (see: anytime Kidd had a triple double yet lost by like 15-20pts). I can honestly see that as a draft night deal (hopefully keeping OUR pick cause I'm greedy like that). A lot of players like Devin...but in terms of a free agent, would you rather come play in Jersey with Christ Paul (how I refered to him since his rookie year) or would you want to play with Devin Harris? I love Devin but that's a no brainer. I'd give the Hornets whatever they wanted as long as Brook our our pick this year weren't included.

I am pulling for us to get the 1st overall pick, then ship that pick, Yi, Lee and Najera to NOH for Chris Paul and a bad contract such as Posey or Mo Pete.
Then we ship out Devin for a top 8 pick and draft Evan Turner and then we sign Bosh to a max deal and sign one of Scola or Haslem to a small deal.
Leaving us with the following lineup:
PG Chris Paul
SG Terrence Williams
SF Evan Turner
PF Chris Bosh
C Brook Lopez
Bench: CDR, Haslem, Dooling, Posey, Dallas pick

Then we still have big FA money again in 2011 with a stacked lineup for 2010 and the future.

I want to give the Raptors respect since they've got my boi A-WRIGHT but when you let Manu Ginobili have as many blocks as your entire team (4) the only word that can describe you is SOFT.

Also it figures that Morrow would remember how to play AFTER I drop him...

Air Wright still going hard, trying to bring some toughness to the Raptors... Not sure if that's possible for one man to do though...
