Hey, if this takes Kiki out of the GM's chair for a little, I'm all for it.

I'm fine with Kiki and Del running the show as long as we look for a real coach this offseason. They'll be fine. I'm just changing my goal for the season: Do not set the record for fewest wins in a season.

Kiki is supouse to be a GREAT modivator so it might be good for the young players but if he doesn't know a thing about coaching, then won't this team take a step back?

What I find funny is, as much as I like Kiki, he's NEVER played a lick of defense in his entire basketball career. It's too completely different mentalities coming to a head. Frank's defensive style walking out the door and Kiki's offensive style coming in. I can't see him "stressing defense" all too much because that's not how he played so it'd be hypocritical for him to teach defense. I think that's why he's bringing in Del to be his assistant. Kiki will try to open up the offense, which will likely favor guard play and big man who can step out to where teams hopefully will try to close out our perimeter play and allow Brook to go 1-on-1 with his man (yes!). Del will focus on the other side of the ball, and hopefully we can win a few games. Worst case scenario next draft is we get the #6 pick (that's if we finish with the 3rd worst record we can only fall 3 spots max), best case we land the #1.

Either way, I think the style of this team is going to change rather quickly and even if we lose (and we'll lose a lot) they may be enjoyable to watch.

I'm pretty sure that defense will not be first (or second or third) on Kiki's game plan. I'm not even sure he can say the word

i have had it. now im pissed. this organization is run by a bunch of damn jews just like the country. why the hell didnt they even interview ewing? why the hell didnt they even attempt to make any moves to improve the team? dont give me any bull about 2010. this is all about saving money because thats what they covet. if it were about basketball then they would have signed a few players with skill to at least get this team in the 35 win range. they would have at least brought in some coaches for consideration. how come they never contacted allen iverson? bring in iverson to play along harris and ewing as coach and you have an attractive team for the free agents next year. **** bruce ratner!

They didn't interview Ewing because they want to wait until the offseason to have a better selection of coaches and allow themselves to evaluate the situation better. When a coach is fired mid-season, things must happen very quickly. Name 3 times where a coach was fired midseason where the guy hired was not a member of the organization already. I guarantee you won't be able to name 3. All teams that do this give a guy in the organization the interim coaching job and wait till the summer to sort things out.

Honestly we're not a terrible team either. We went into a full rebuild mold ala the Portland Trailblazers (who sucked for a number of years until recently when their young guys started panning out) which is the route we should have gone ALL ALONG. We've dealt with a number of injuries to important guys already. Hell 5-6 games we only suited up 8 players. You're blowing this so much out of proportion right now dude. We'll be ok. We know we're gonna have a very good pick next year, we can add someone in the Dallas pick and have the cap room to make some signings. We are not in a bad situation in any capacity even though we're the laughing stock of the NBA right now. The Clippers who set this record were dreadful. College teams could have beaten them. We are better than our stats show. We had a lead on Boston going into the 4th when we played them. We were up on Denver at half time the first time we played them. We have some talent, it's just inconsistant because our team age is like 24.

We'll be ok. I don't know why you want to win meaningless games so bad to the point you'd want to bring in Allen Iverson. Go to the Portland board and ask them how they coped with sucking? You're blowing this out of proportion dude. Plus our new owner is the Mark Cuban of Europe.

We are fine. Stop worrying.

to an athlete there is no such thing as a meaningless game. the nets are being cheap and the whole "2010/brooklyn plan" is a cover. nobody is going to sign for a team that sets the record for most consecutive losses to start a season. these free agents want to win championships. not get paid boat loads of money to stink it up. thats what bobby simmons is for. LBJ, wade, bosh all get paid enough from endorsements alone that their great great grandchildren in the year 3000 will be set for life. the 2010 free agent class is full of hungry, young, and extraordinarily talented players that want to win. and ewing said himself he would love to coach the nets, and they didnt even acknowledge him. the guy has a great coaching resume while kiki vanderweghe has done what?? gave kenyon martin a max contract. bruce ratner is a homo that only cares about money. what does he know about basketball? jason kidd said the same thing.

Thank you for naming 3 coaches hired outside an organization when a coach was fired midseason. I'm 110% positive you can't do it. We'll evaluate everyone in the offseason when we have more time.

Again, before you blow a gasket, go to the Portland board and ask them how they coped with sucking for a while. They didn't go out and get big name free agents. Hell their biggest one in years is Andre Miller and they're a top 5 team in the west. Patience man. We have a new owner coming in, we have solid young talent that is still developing (remember this is only Devin's 2nd full year as a starting PG in the NBA too). It seems like your anger is soley directed on our losing streak and are not seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We are FINALLY rebuilding correct and also have a new owner who likes to spend money, about to get a new stadium, have a very good draft spot this upcoming draft and cap room. The idea of us getting a top tier FA went out the window LONG BEFORE this losing streak.

Hey at least Jan agreed to tag along. But seriously, all the moves this team is making is based on a gamble of getting someone next offseason. that is not going to happen if the team is this horrible.

i dont get it? what does the year have to do with anything? ewing is a coach. AI is a player that can still score and make this team look that much more attractive to other players. you dont think harris and iverson can be a top scoring combo like vince and harris were? so what about religion too stop being so touchy touchy.

i cant name 3 coaches because i dont follow other teams that closely to care. the difference with protland and the nets is this. the nets are horrible because they dont want to spend money. they are pinching their wallets because all bruce ratfag wants to do is get more wealthy. protland on the other hand, well they just sucked. they didnt have the excuse of saving money to sign a big name free agent in the offseason like the nets are using. my anger isnt directed at the losing streak, its at the fact we suck and management doesnt want to do anything about it except sit on their asses expecting their "plans" to make their wallets fat and are trying to convince us THE FANS that the future is bright. i guarntee they nets dont even land joe johnson.

because im the only one not being brainwashed by nets management? the only future this team has is well after 2010. shoot the nets might not even be good again until new jersey gets another NBA team. why doesnt anyone else see this? bruce ratner only cares about money he couldnt care less about basketball. they are not commited to winning, i feel sorry for all of you and the nets players.

...And Bruce Ratner won't be our owner in a few months. Look, we have a new owner coming in WHO LIKES TO SPEND, we have a new beautiful arena coming, we have solid young talent all still developing, we have a very high draft pick coming, we have cap space. What more do you want? Yes, we are bad, but we are not as bad as you think now and in the future. Get the sand out of your vadge and understand this. If not, honestly we don't need 16 Nets fans. We'll do fine with 15 if you're gone.

yes he does like to spend. but be prepared to see nikoli petrokov coaching the team while sven ardensol and ivan szhiloti run the fast breaks. the guy said himself he wants to bring russian talent both in coaching and playing to the NBA. and to your points. the beautiful arena is in conjuction with the nets leaving new jersey, youre supposed to like the nets because they are your home team. if the nets move to brooklyn that means the knicks are closer to being the home team. the last time the nets had such a high draft pick how well did that work out? if it werent for jason kidd then kenyon martin would be mediocre at best. the cap space means absouletley nothing if nobody wants to play hear. thats the point im trying to get across. there is no commitment to winning. the owners just want to save money and think that will bring in big name players. WRONG! not gonna happen. so keep buying into everything rod and them are telling you. "oh i thought we played high energy tonight". yeah high energy big deal rod, how many wins has that turned out to be? kiss the 2010 free agency class goodbye.
