Trade with Portland

Massive trade idea:
Portland trades Brandon Roy, LaMarcus Aldridge, Joel Pryzbilla, Travis Outlaw, 1st round pick to NJ for
Devin Harris
Brook Lopez
fillers
How do you Nets fans react to that?

File this under never will happen but NJ would do it in a heartbeat.
This is so unlikely and ridiculous, it really does deserve a thread of it's own.

Never happen in a million years. Why would Portland go back to a rebuilding mode when they are a top 5 team in the west?

I actually don't believe they would. Look at what it does to the team after the trade: best case scenario, we have the number one pick...and that's it. Who are we going to take then? Favors/pf? Oh, Aldridge is already there. Wall? Okay, and now who plays center? With no cap room, the Nets would be a middle of the road team with no Greg Oden in the middle. It would be even worse of a trade if the Nets didn't get the first pick, and end up not being able to pick Wall.
The trade creates a lot of holes on the team. Pure talent wise, it's good, but...that's not everything. Take out Aldridge and Lopez, the Blazers' pick, and add the Mavericks pick, and that's a good trade for the Nets that'll never, ever happen.

You may now fall on your sword.

Roy was a borderline superstar last year, but I'm getting worried about him because he's been a real ball hog this season, and is not a good defender. I know that the Blazers would never trade him because he's the "face of the franchise". LaMarcus is like jekyll and hyde. He goes through long stretches of the season, where we call him "LaMarshemellow", just very soft, shooting outside jumpers. Then all of a sudden he turns it on and he's one of the top PFs in the league.
What I like about Lopez, is that he brings it every night, and he doesn't shy away from going inside. He's got the athletisism to be a PF. Twin towers of Oden and Lopez would dominate like the Spurs of old!
NJ wouldn't trade Lopez for LA though, which is why Portland could include Roy for Harris. With Harris, we finally get an athletic PG that can defend. Oden is always getting into foul trouble, because our guards can't stop penetration.
I know it's a deal that would never happen, but I wondered what NJ fans would think about it. If I were the Blazers GM, I just might pull the trigger.
Harris
Fernandez
Batum
Oden
Lopez

I'm not going to argue that Lopez/Harris is better than Roy/Aldridge. However, that upgrade really isn't worth shredding your cap flexibility while at the same time dealing from the 2 hardest positions in the league to fill.
That said, if the Nets were to get the #1 pick in the draft (John Wall), Harris for Aldridge is an interesting deal.

If we land Wall I think Harris would need to go and I got the best way to do it a 3 way deal with Portland and NO. I think everybody wins here. I'm gonna post it on the General trade board to see everyones reaction.
Portland gets:
Harris
Okafor
C. Lee or T.Will (which ever they want more)
NJ gets:
Aldridge
Rudy
Blake
Przybilla
NO gets:
Simmons (expiring)
Dallas 1st.
NO gets out from Okafor which I think they want to do and get a 1st round pick. NJ gets two solid young pieces in Rudy and Aldridge. Portland gets an allstar point and a solid PF still under 30 giving them a formidable defensive/rebounding frontcourt.
Portland:
Harris
Roy
Outlaw
Okafor
Oden
Nets:
Wall
Rudy
CDR
Aldridge
Lopez
NO:
Paul
Mo Pete
Wright
West
Dallas 1st.
(and cap room)
Lots of things have to happen for this trade to even be considered. Nets need to land Wall, Portland needs to struggle in the playoffs giving them a reason to shake things up, and well NO just needs to keep struggling.
I tried to be a non biased as possible so I need some Portland and NO fans to voice their opinions as well as fans from none of the teams.

Portland seems to love Pryz (not sure I want to really spend $7 mil on a backup C) and Rudy. Plus honestly, I don't know if the gap between TWill/Lee and Rudy is worth the Dallas pick.
