So, looks like the Rockets do want to trade Tmac. I definitely think we need him. I mean, what do we lose with him around? he´s an expiring contract, will provide a lot of help on the offensive side, will lessen the double doubles on Brook, and could play a position that we lack: SF. Imagine a lineup of Brook, YI, Tmac, Lee and Harris. What do you guys think and what kind of package would you give for him?
I suggest expiring contracts. I dont believe the Rockets will get the same value in return from any team in the nba, so if we put together expirings, plus a future draft pick, we might have a chance.

yeah but he would stunt the growth of CDR or Lee just by getting minutes because there would def be issues if he wasn't a starter. I mean if Lee was fine with coming off the bench thats cool i dont see him as a starter in the NBA anyway.

Tmac should go back to Orlando.I mean i would give them Hassel and Simmons if that worked but noway are they getting a draft pick.

No need to include a 1st rounder.

Bobby Simmons, Trenton Hassel, Sean Williams and a 2nd rounder.

They're all expiring, they get a 2nd pick and a player that could give them defense off the bench in Hassell. I would Swap Simmons with Alston but I'm not too sure they want him back.

Houston is most likely gonna want to add depth in my opinion. I know tmac USED TO BE lights out, but if Houston thinks they're gonna get any young players of big value from a team, they're crazy. I'd totally do the trade Jeff1624 suggested obviously. I'm open to offering a heavily protected future pick (say lottery protected 2011, top 7 protected 2012, unprotected 2013) if push comes to shove. I know I've said a few times on the board I think the Nets will move Dallas's pick, I do not believe THIS is the deal we should use.

I'd would trade for Tmac though. We'd consolidate our salary and roster spots. That'd open us up to possibly doing another trade where we take on more players. I'm rambling, but this would give us more flexibility. Hey if TMac is half the man he was, a few years ago (holding my breathe, but still) I would be open to signing him to an MLE-type deal (because we won't get the MLE this year right since we're under the cap? I thought that's how it worked) to be our 6th man or 2nd-3rd scorer.

IDK lets just play this season out it makes no sense to trade any picks for him. Plus why would he want to come here. Someone might give up a late 1st and an expiring to make a run at a title thats where he should go.

I agree with Rock.

Only reason why you trade for Tmac is to get more cap room. Any trade shouldnt include any of our young guys or draft picks. Najera has to be in the deal. If a deal was to done just trading contracts, Tmac wouldnt even get suited up. I would buy him out or sit him out for the rest of the year. There was already a rumor that he didnt want to come here.

All honesty I dont see this working in any way. Why trade VC for his cousin that hasnt played if it isnt for more cap room.

If you really wanted to bring in a washed up all-star in a desperate attempt to bring in fans, you could have just signed Iverson for a lot less.

Any deal that doesn't involve Najera is likely a waste of time and money.

T-MAC AND HIS $23 MIL EXPIRING

Any chance the Nets can swindle a deal that would land us a one year rental on this guy (whose contract would come off the books next season)?
Not a bad idea for team looking for capspace; but would ownership want to eat the remainder of that contract??

I've already stated that a Hassell, Simmons, Battie deal would work. They do it because it gives them more flexibility now that the expirings are divied in 3. they could make other deals including those 3 contracts to land guys like Butler, Hamilton or whoever else they want.

We do it because it gives us another scoring option as we avoid ending up with the worse record ever.

Tonight is the 2nd night this season we're starting our actual starting 5 from opening night. I think we'll win 10 games, but this season is pretty brutal right now. As long as we don't give up young guys or anything better than expirings and 2nd rounders, I'm ok with bringing Tmac here. We'll still probably have the worst record in basketball and line ourselves up for the best chance at #1 (worst case would be #4 right? I thought 3 worst teams can't fall any lower than 3 picks below where they were supposed to pick based on records). If we feel we'll possibly screw up landing a top 3 pick, then I'll pass on Tmac haha.

Only way were bringing up T-Mac here is if they take Najera's contract.
