Jazz Rumors?

Rumor has it that a Jazz trade is imminent. Seeing as they're looking to save money could we be getting involved with our expirings. Thorn has been rumored to be interested in trading for Nate and now Diaw. We won't be trading our young players until the Russian has taken over so with Simmons, Battie, and Alston as our large expirings could we be getting involved in this somehow.

I don't see us making a huge splash in this deal but maybe we could turn an expiring into a pick.

The owner of the Jazz made a comment over the weekend that a trade with them is imminent and could happen as early as Tuesday.

If we have decided to turn out attentions to 2011, I would trade our expirings for AK47.

DURANT FOR 2011!!!!!

I'm sorry, but Durant is a waste of time. In 2011, he'll be a RESTRICTED free agent. There's really no reason why OKC wouldn't match a max-contract offer for him in a millisecond.

Yeah we got no shot at Durant. Boozer would be the only guy we would go after but then he could split on us and we could lose whatever young pieces we would have to include to get him, probably starting with Yi and the Dallas pick. Just ask Cavs fans how loyal he really is. I don't want to lose assests and have him split on us too. Lets just try and dump Najara (which Thorn seems to be trying to do) or jump into a trade as a third team and try and turn an expiring into a pick.

If you're going for anyone in 2011, it should be Carmelo.

considering the report that the jazz are willing to trade anyone on the team except deron williams, lets try to get millsap. someone on netsdaily suggested taking on kirilenko in a package with millsap. I would definitely have to consider that. Im not really feelin the FA market, and I would love to see millsap and lopez in the frontcourt.

AK and Millsap add up to a lot of salary, and the only player the Jazz would want back is on a rookie contract.

I would still save the money and prepare an offer for durant then give Boozer $10+ mill per year.

Durant is a pipe dream. They will match any offer for him, even if he wants to leave.

How bout:

NJ sends:
Courtney Lee
Dallas 1st
Tony Battie
Eduardo Najera

Utah sends:
Paul Millsap
Kyle Korver

I still think it is best to wait to at least draft night for most trades, but I thought this was a little interesting.

I don't disagree with the idea of not giving a $60+ million contract to Boozer or waiting til 2011 if the top guys aren't willing to come here. It's just that Durant is a total pipe dream for the reasons stated. Carmelo, while a big long shot, is a lot more viable of an option.

No Thanks

That deal isnt worth a Pick and Lee. Utah is desperate and needs to get under the cap. We dont have to trade with them.

You are right about Carmelo, but does he want to leave Denver. Brooklyn would be better for him.

They are desperate, but not that desperate, we still have to send something of value for something of value.
I still say unless it's a no brainer, we have to wait till the offseason to make a deal to see where we stand in the lotto and where other teams stand, etc., so I agree, no thanks on this one.

well they're gonna have to match salaries, we can't just send them a rookie contract. I would trade our expirings for those 2 in a heartbeat

I said before the season...I would deal for Boozer and his expring mid year as long as we shed every piece we no longer want. Then over the summer we can decide what to do.

As long as we do not take back contracts that last past this year, it wont hurt 2010 free agency.
