Guess Who I Saw Yesterday?

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Thu Jan 7, 2010 8:41 pm

As some of you may know, I live in the midwest; Lawrence, KS (home of the Jayhawks!) to be exact. Last night, some friends and I went to the KU-Cornell game (don't ask...). We had GA tickets, so we arrived about an hour early. As the players were doing their stretches and we were walking by the visitor's bench, I saw one doe-eyed, balding, light-red-headed (and recently fired) man sitting in the 2nd row, watching the players intently. I walked right by him, and had to double-check to face, but sure enough, it was him!

Now, I'm not sure what he was doing at the game, but it looked as though he was scouting in some capacity. Maybe he has been hired by another NBA team, or maybe he's biding his time at Cornell. Anyway, I thought I'd share. If anyone knows for sure what he was doing there, and what he's up to, I'd be interested.

P.S. I almost turned around to say hello to him, but I didn't want to be fake. Inevitably, the topic of his firing would have come up, and I'd have had to be honest: I REALLY, REALLY wanted him to be fired.

Get Up Kids are like Gods to me.

Back on topic, I wouldn't have said anything either but I'd try to make eye contact with him to let him know I KNEW who he was.

He should coach college though...since there are only 2 halves, he will never get an opportunity to screw up a 4th quarterly.

funny stuff...curious too what he was doing there...I dont doubt Frank's style of coaching is geared more toward the college game...I think he would also get a better response out of a younger group of men...

ahhh, good luck to him...he will have no problem finding a job in the game basketball...from scout to coach, he's a hard worker...would make a great Asst. Coach on any level and add a lot to that coaching staff...

Developing young talent who ARE getting paid versus young talent who ARE NOT getting paid...big difference...

<BUMP>

Told Ya:

"...essentially canvassing the quadrangle between Kansas, Dallas, Orlando and New England..."

I'm glad to hear he is still working hard at his craft. He needs to coach a Big Ten team or something, like his mentor Bobby Knight.

I honestly think Frank could easily become one of the best college coaches in the game o_O...
