Dear Nets fans,

The Toronto Raptors RealGM Board has banded together and is challenging each other to donate money for Haiti, we have raised over $1,500 as of this morning. We'd like to invite you to join us in helping Haiti or challenge you to start your own Haiti thread.

You can find the Raptors Haiti thread here...viewtopic.php?f=32&t=976950&start=0

Since Tuesday Night, I have been glued to the TV and my home phone waiting for phone calls. Not many of you know this but I am Haitian. For the past few days, I have been waiting for my sisters to call to say they were alright. I have been really distracted and helpless not only with my family's circumstances but also with the magnitude of this disaster, the messages from other friends and family with both good and bad news, and the pictures and videos of others suffering in this heavily populated area. Finally, we have received word through a voice message this afternoon from a friend of my sisters saying that they are all alright.

Thanks Major for creating this thread.

I am personally donating money to Doctors without Borders and the Red Cross. I am also working with several smaller organizations in the NY area that will be sending barrels of a variety of things to Haiti in the upcoming weeks. How much isnt what matters. Something is what counts. Please help.

Here is a link to all the organizations that are providing services to Haiti:

Thank You.

OT it intrigues/ fascinates me about us nets fans being from all different backgrounds. probably for another thread. but i'd love to know where we are all from.

SIC, sorry to hear that this hit so close to home for you, but glad to hear that your family is OK.
I am really broke right now, but I am going to try and make at least a small donation of some sort.
Someone told me UPS is shipping packages to Haiti for free if you fill a small box with supplies such as canned goods and first aid stuff, I think this is a route I can go to at least make some sort of impact, I will be going on the UPS website to look it up and if it still stands as I was told I will send something out in the next day or two.
Good luck to your family and friends, sorry to hear again.

I'm very happy to hear your family is safe...my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family...it seems like help is growing...just from the golden globes and in the hollywood community...George Clooney is hosting a televised relief show (jan 22)...you should get a lot of help there...
