Hey Nets fans, i was wondering if you think Brooke's bro over at the suns can ever reach the levels of Brooke? Would you like to see him playing alongside his bro?

They are different players, but the short answer is no. I think Robin will top out as a Varejao type with a bit of Brendan Haywood, an efficient 12/8/2/1/2 guy on a contender. Brook reminds me the most of Brad Daugherty, a 21/10/2/1/2 type of weapon on a team that may or may not be successful. Brook can be a bigtime contributor to a contender, but his presence alone isn't going to lift a terrible team into semi-contention, a la Wade or Paul.

I don't think so he just doesn't have the moves or strength and if he were to develop the strength I think it would reduce his quickness and the rest of his game would suffer.

He's a different type player but I don't really see RoLo developing too much of a back-to-the-basket type game.

Of course Nets fans will say "no"...

Phoenix Suns think that Robin has a higher ceiling than Brooke and that is all that matters. We are starting to see a lot of that right now since Robin is getting minutes now for the first time and putting up numbers including outplaying Brook head to head when they were on the court.

They have the same talent, except they were developed into different directions in college. Robin has the better drive and more athleticism which is why the Suns think he will be the better player in the long term.

1. Robin did not outplay Brook. All his points came off plays made by Steve Nash coupled with poor defensive rotations by the Nets. If you look at how the two fared in 1-on-1 situations Brook vastly outplayed Robin that game...

2. The Suns do not believe Robin Lopez has more upside than Brook Lopez...

3. Your argument about them being twins is beyond terrible... It's like something a third grader would come up with.

Robin's proving he belongs in the NBA but that's about all you can say about him right now. I wish him and the Suns the best but your delusional (and I'm sorry but that's the only way I can put it) arguments about Robin being better than Brook give members of the human race a bad name.

Honestly watching them both play I see an overwhelming difference in talent. Robin is more of a finisher /hustle type player. Unless he makes some major leaps in his game I'm not sure it's even worth comparing the two. Brook's just way ahead of him offensively..and I wouldn't say Robin blows Brook away defensively either...

Compare Robin's first starts to Brooks, he clearly performed better.

If Brook wasn't on the worst team in NBA history that could throw him all the playing time in the world he wouldn't have developed as much as he has so far.

And then they saw the two of them play and realized they were dead wrong... If the Nets offered Brook Lopez for Robin Lopez you better believe that the Suns would take the deal and run.

The reverse would not hold true.

Wow, this is giving Suns fans a bad name...

Maybe we believed Robin had more "upside" as in more room to grow. However, it's certain he'll never be the type of player his brother is.

Looking at this:
1)Scrub < 2)benchwarmer < 3)back-up C < 4)starting C < 5)All star C
It's like Robin has more potential to go from 1 to 4, whereas Brook can only go one lvl from 4 to 5. Still, Robin won't be a "better player" than Brook since Brook is already good/ fringe all-star C.

I'm biased as a suns fan as I like Robin more but there's no question:
Brook > Robin.

Don't worry, I knew this was an isolated incident.

Both of these guys have roughly the same God-given potential, it's just that their respective environments have shaped them differently to some extent. Put Robin in Brooke's situation on the Nets and I'm sure he would be producing a lot more than he is with the Suns.

Brook said this himself when the Suns were in Jersey...

He's not going to trash his brother... But to play devil's advocate put Robin Lopez on a team without Steve Nash and you'd have a pretty useless player offensively... Dude can't create his own shot, couldn't do it at Stanford, still can't do it now.

Which is what scares me about aquiring Amar'e. Amar'e is obviously a very good offensive player on his own, but I feel a lot of what we see is a product of Nash.
