We got big time owners, hopefully we can sign a big time coach and hopefully we can draft a big time player.
If we do get Wall, then Devin Harris is a valuable trade piece. We could get Wall, a big star through a sign-and-trade and another big star through free agency. Put those guys with Brook Lopez and we'd be on our way in 2010-11.

I just hope we dont slip to the #3 or 4.
I think the season wouldnt be as bad of a let down if we get the #1 or 2. #3 or 4 will be tough to swallow.
I am now an Advocate for Turner. If we get the #1 pick and an opportunity to trade the #1 for the #2 and another pick or another young player, I am all for it.

Haha is this a shout out to Lebron considering Bone Thugs are from Cleveland?

I honestly would rather get Turner, but I think I am in the minority.

I like Evan Turner too. I think he will be an All-Star because he can do so many things.
Can he be a franchise player? Can he be on that first tier of NBA superstars like Wade, Melo, LeBron, Kobe and Howard? I don't think Turner will, but I do think John Wall could.
However, I wouldn't be upset with the number 2 pick because I think picking Evan Turner fits this team better.
We already have an All-Star at point guard, we have a budding All-Star at center, Turner is gonna be an All-Star on the wing and we can sign another All-Star to max contract. And they aren't just All-Stars, they all play defense and are naturally unselfish on the court, so that chemistry would work. It would also strengthen our bench to have T-Will and Lee not start.

Actually I hadnt even thought of that. Im honestly not expecting LBJ or even Wade to sign with NJ. In all honesty I think we have a good chance at signing 1 really good player and a couple above average players and can be the 2004 Detroit Pistons.

We all know Rudy Gay has been on our radar even before his recent comments. If we land the #1 I feel we'll draft Wall, get Rudy whether Memphis doesn't match or something like that, trade Devin, Yi, 1st (maybe CDR too if we can get a better guy) for an above average PF then let Terrence/Lee battle it out for the starting 2 and probably sign a decent vet as a stop gap if neither can step up.

I can't stomach the idea of having Courtney Lee OR Terrence Williams start at the 2. Terrence Williams might be the worst shooter in the NBA, Courtney Lee has ZERO court vision and he's a mediocre jumpshooter and neither of them are big or strong enough to get to the hoop consistenly.

^^^^^Maybe there's a way we can mold them together and they can both start at the 2.Then we'll have an athletic player with good court vision and a decent jumpshot.

I do agree with that. I wouldn't be especially happy with it either. My reasoning there is that other than Wade and Joe Johnson, I really think any other above average starting caliber shooting guard in this free agent class isn't worth the money they are looking for. Would you rather try to move Devin, Yi, Picks (maybe one of CDR or Lee) for that king of shooting guard, draft a PF with both the Dallas and 2nd round pick, sign a potential stop-gap vet if no young guy is the clear cut starter and go into the season like that? I'd be fine with that as well.

It all starts with Wall, then I seriously think LBJ will think long and hard about coming here. Lopez, LBJ, and Wall would form a scary trio and I think LBJ knows it. Then we sign a banger down low for the PF spot (I like D. Lee if we can nab him for like 10 mil thats all we will have left but for a shot at a chip he might bite) and trade Harris for our SG and we got a sick team. There should be some takers for him.
If the Turner senerio plays out then we keep Harris, Turner, sign Gay (if its reasonable), still need that banger down here at PF (it can't be Yi next year he needs to come off the bench) and Lopez.
A trio of Wall, LBJ, and Lopez gives me wet dreams.
Wall
C.Lee until we find an upgrade with a Harris trade (Micheal Redd would be an option if he is healthy)
LBJ
D.Lee
Lopez
Thats my dream team

If we get the #1 pick, Wall has to be selected.
If the above happens, Harris should be traded. I would trade him for a Young PF or for a lottery pick to get a young PF.
If we get the #2 pick, Turner should be selected.
If the above happens, Harris should still be traded for a young PF or for a lottery pick to get a young PF.
If we get the #3 or 4 pick, This is the toughest scenario. Wesley, Cousins or Favors. I dont know. I like Wesley, but another wing player. Cousins looks good but he is immature. Favors I dont know much about because i havent seen him play.

To be honest, I have no idea. I just can't tolerate the thought of having Lee as our SG again next year.
For the Evan turner fans, can he play the 2 or is he a fixture at the 3 spot? Because if we land the #2 pick and Turner can't play SG, then there's no point in signing Gay.

Turner can absolutely play the 2. He could even man the point in a Tracy McGrady/Brandon Roy, psuedo point guard role if you had another playmaking guard to pair him with that can hit the outside shot and defend the other teams 1, like OJ Mayo.

If Lebron or Wade dont say YES to the NETS, I dont want sign any FAs.
The reason why everyone is down on Lee is because of the two coaches we have had this year. Lee is better coming off screens. CDR needs ISOs. Since the coaches didnt implement any movement with out the ball and ISO plays in the offense, LEE and CDR are useless. Then you put in the Harris factor. Putting the ball in Harris' hands has been a total waste of time. Harris is a shoot first PG. Unless he has more games like the Bobcats game, he will never be beneficial to this team.
Back to the topic. If we get wall or Turner, harris needs to be used to get a young PF. I would start Turner at PG, Lee at SG, Twill at SF. Turner and Twill will share responsibility of bringing the ball up the court and playing PG/PF. Twill can call plays for lopez to post up, Turner and Lee can come off screens, and whoever the PF is to pick and roll. When it is turners turn at the Point, he can set up Lopez in the post, Lee coming off screens, Twill ISOs, and Pick and Roll with whoever is PF.
Hopefully we get a smart coach that sees what each player brings to the table and uses their potential instead of implementing stupid plans and strategies.
