John Wall said he’ll go home to Raleigh, N.C., on Friday and visit with his mother for Easter. He’ll discuss his NBA decision with her, he said, and with John Calipari and his former AAU coach, Brian Clifton, and he’ll make a decision in “a week or two.”

Wall said it “can be an easy decision at times,” but called his year at UK “a great experience.”

“If you leave, you’re becoming a man; it’s everything on your own,” Wall said. “If not, another college (season) wouldn’t be bad. It’s fun. The season was good. You’ve got to sit down and weigh your options and pick from there.”

if he has smart people surrounding him, he'll declare. this is just the beginning of a nerve wracking offseason for the nets. ill probly be on the edge of my seat come lottery time especially if this kids name is in the draft.

thats crazy talk. im not saying which of the 2 we should draft becuase i'm not even sure anymore, but let's say we end up w/the #2 pick. i'd like to have a choice between turner and wall so i want both to be in the draft. and they most likely will anyway. hard to go back when ur a top 2 lock.

Well, if Wall doesn't declare and we drop to either 3 or 4, I'd rather trade down and pick up Monroe and other assets.

Monroe already said he's staying for his senior year. It was right after their loss in the tourney, so emotions were running high when he said it. But there has been zero speculation since then; I think he's really staying with the Hoyas. Anyway, I don't really like his fit here. If we become a more half-court team, then yes, Greg and Brook could co-exist. But no matter who we hire as head coach, our personnel is largely suited for an uptempo system.

I am well aware of what Monroe has said. And, as for fit...um, unless Lopez is being traded, there is no way that this team can be an uptempo. So unless you don't have any intention of playing Brook Lopez, then you have to build around him, in which case Greg Monroe is nearly the perfect player next to Brook other than a freak athlete like Josh Smith.

And, no, don't take it with a grain of salt. April 1st isn't some mystic day where no one can be serious about something. If he comes out and says, "nah, I was just kidding," sure, laugh it off, but until then, you have to take it seriously. Do I think he'll stay? No, but I'm not going to sweep the threat under the rug as a prank.

So, we're treating the continued education of a 19yo as a "threat", now? Wall has already said numerous times that Calipari WON'T ALLOW him to stay if he hears confirmation from his NBA connections that he'll be a #1 pick. Even if he has a screw loose upstairs, Cal will make the responsible move for Wall.

As for Lopez, he grew up with the DDM. He fits fine in it, but most people agree that it can only support one true bigman on the floor at a time. As I said before, we may very well be running a different offense next season. We can cross that bridge when we get there.

What would be the benefit for him if he stays one more year? He's already projected as the number 1 pick. His stock can't go any higher and if anything, can drop if he gets injured. If he's getting any good advice at all, he's coming to the NBA.

He'll end up coming out, he'd be stupid not to.
