Leafs vs Raps?

Post#1 » by The Main Event » Thu Jan 29, 2009 5:06 pm

Who sucks worse at this point in the season? Id have to go with the Leafs. At least the Raps have a distinguishable franchise player, not that our record would indicate it. MLSE are a bunch of cheap shlubs who could care less about the success of our teams.
How do you think Bosh would do on skates? Imagine throwing him on the ice. He would definitely throw his weight around.

The Raptors have a roster where they're trying to win now, and have made trades to reflect that (i.e- O'Neal). The Leafs have a re-tooling/re-building mentality. There's really no comparison to be made. The Leafs have been worse if you're trying to determine who's had the poorer season.

Leafs play really, really hard almost all the time. They have bottom 1/3rd talent and a bottom 1/3rd record.

Raptors play hard once in a while during the fourth quarter while down 20. They have middle-of-the-pack talent and are 2nd last in the East. You tell me.

Casey: yeah I know, we needed spacing
BC: play him more (walks away)

I would have to say the Raptors, I mean they did have really high expectations in comparison to the leafs. We expected to be top 5 atleast in the east.
No.

The better question is who would put up a better fight? Raps vs Leafs in bball or Raps vs Leafs in hockey. I put my money on bball since not everyone knows how to skate so you'd see a bunch of raps crawling around.
The answer to all of life's questions is Kevin Nash.

There's no question the Raptors have had the worse season based on expectations alone.

Watch way more raps than leafs but from the leaf games i seen i must say that leafs try more and some games are fun to watch. Raps is totally garbage, no heart just giving up all the time.

Leafs by far suck the worst. At least the raptors have some talent on the roster.

The Leafs were the better of the two for this season. While they were expected to be a good defensive team, they were terrible, but on offense they showed grind and effort almost every game. With the Raptors great start (3-0) and the hype around having the twin towers in JO-Bosh, I was expecting at the minimum a playoff appearance again. The Raps had a number of really disappointing losses, that made me re-consider the direction the franchise is going in.

+1

The leafs have gotten some solid prospects in the past 2 drafts in Schenn, Kadri, Hayes and others. But they still lack that franchise player like a Tavares who the Raptors have in Bosh. Hopefully both teams improve in the future as I am a big fan of both.
