Greetings Leafs fans, from an Albertan -- just thought I'd let you know you guys made a tremendous pick with Matt Frattin.
Had a chance to see him play a few times with the Ft Sask Traders in the AJHL, and he's just amazing. What really stood out for me about him is he was able to make an impact no matter who he was playing with, which is saying a lot for a first-year guy.

Has there been any word on where he is going next year? I really hope he gets a real crack at the show.

There were a lot more Tier 2 guys taken this year then I can ever remember. He's on his way to the Universty of North Dakota next year, so he's a ways away from Pro hockey.

Yeah, I think NHL teams are finally starting to look at junior A as a serious source of talent.

That said, how these guys do will tell the tale long-term -- Turris in particular. If they end up being stars, it will be like the NBA drafting Europeans. If they don't pan out, it could be a long time before we see this many drafted again.
