I just finished reading an article in the star which states that Ferguson was denied the request to rebuild this franchise just a few seasons ago. Here are a couple quotes:

Goof for Ferguson. If Peddie and MLSE are going to let him twist in the wind, the least JFJ can do is let the rest of the world know he really isn't an idiot and he's kept his mouth shut for the last few years as a good company man.
Peddie is about to get in crap for tampering with Fletcher who is under contract (what a moron) and really should be ushered out of town himself. he can easily be replaced by a plethora of qualified people who would jump all over that job.

As much as I am not a fan of what Ferguson has done with the team, people need to start realizing that the problems lay at the hand of Peddie.
It's not just the decisions, it's the comments in the media, throwing other's under the bus as soon as he sees the spotlight turning even slightly on him. You can't have someone running at the top who is only concerned with saving their job and preserving their power instead of doing what's necessary for the team.
