Once the team shores up it's defense, this team is going to be hella good.

If they can keep the young core together for the long haul, we might have something special.

Morgan Rielly was -1 on a night when he had 3 assists. Not looking good for us right now, and the rookie wall hasn't even hit yet.

Good win. I had a feeling Andersen has been a problem lately. He's been good last month, but he's up and down.

I think all those games he played in a row after he got healthy and the team had no faith in the backup are just catching up to him along with some shoddy defense in front of him. As the goalie you'll take the brunt of it and he's def let in some weak ones but it's hard to identify what's causing his recent play.

I think it's just a bad streak. Andersen's hot streak peaked with those couple of shutouts he had a few weeks ago, and now he's slumping. Give him some rest and he'll bounce back.

Anderson is back. Team looks exhausted, though. I don't see how they can manage this packed schedule the rest of the way. Nylander, Marner and Matthews all have the talent to make game breaking plays, but you really see it in guys like Carrick, Hyman and Brown. They're losing a lot of battles. That last goal will cost Kadri the Selke Got spun around like a top. He was great all game, too. Also, Gardiner saved all his trademark turnovers for last night. That was like 10 games worth.
I'm not in favour of a trade unless it's to capitalize on JVR and bring in a top 4 Dman. This has been such a fun year, it might be worth it to just keep things as is and let them fail on their own.

I'm constantly amazed at Matthews strength and size. His ability to either body up with guys along the boards and control the puck or the finesse with his stuck to move the puck and keep control it along the boards is crazy.

I'm surprised he has such a low hit rate. Then again when you have the puck more often than not you don't need to hit people to get it

Back to back games where Matthews can't score on a breakaway in OT and the Leafs end up losing the game
