Can't believe there are 3 teams comfortably with a worse record than the Leafs after this amazing tank. I refuse this watch this garbage team but I may watch some Oilers games to cheer for their wins

I cant even remember a time when the Leafs played a stretch this bad.

I saw a tweet, and it said since december 17th, the Leafs have the same record as the Sabres.

But, this streak is for the better. Cant wait until the draft, should be entertaining.

The Leafs keeping Kessel past the trade deadline was so stupid. Now what are we supposed to get for a forward with a superstar contract who has the worst +/- in the league, a growing cancer and a declining statistical player since he lost Randy Carlyle's system which was perfect for his stats

There probably were not many options for Kessel. I wouldn't worry about him. He doesn't hurt the tank and he will likely bounce back. Especially if he ever gets placed beside a legitimate center. I bet larger contracts like Kessel's are easier to move in the offseason too.

I agree, it's frustrating that this epic tank still hasn't landed us the worst record. Then again, that's the Leafs.

Has Edmonton been relevant at all in the years since Messier left?

They were 1 game away from winning the stanley cup in 2006 as an 8th seed. Pronger's wife ran him out of town shortly after.

Pronger went on to win a stanley cup in beautiful califonia. And the oilers? well... they went back to being irrelevant.

Ah yes. I remember now. Even thought Edmonton hasn't been a big playoff presence since the good old days, they still managed to get a deep run to the Finals in the last decade...unlike the Leafs.

God this organization is pathetic.

McDavid says he models his game after Bozak and then Bozak gets a hat trick in a tank busting win. SMH.

We clinched the 4th worst record. The tank was a huge success considering how many wins they banked early on.

So we have a 9.5% chance at McDavid. More importantly, this guarantees us a top 5 pick. One of McDavid, Hanifan, Strome or Marner will be a Leaf.

So Shanny cleaned house. Will be interesting to see who gets the GM and headcoaching job.

What do you guys think of promoting Dubas?

He seems to have the right approach in terms of player development. And the key to a successful rebuild is player development. Hes under 30, will most likely kill the hype and reduce the expectations the city and media place on this team.

Any names for coaches out there?

Well I think we will have Marlie squad A and Marlie squad B for a couple of years. I really like the team possession and speed game that Winnipeg employs with Keith McCambridge and his IceCaps in the AHL. McCambridge fits in a sort of Dubas metrics era. There are 6 or 7 McCambridge grads up with Winnipeg right now. So if we are a young speedy breakout team with a commitment to defence McCambridge would a good "development" coach. Why get fancy with big names? Hearing Sean Burke's name as an associate to Shanny.

Again off the radar moves will probably be smarter than throwing more money around at obvious names.

Words cant describe how happy I would be. Would seem like things are finally looking up for this franchise.

Well I am apathetic at this point in regards to the Leafs so..At least I am still relatively young, so hopefully in my lifetime
we will see some positive progress into the Playoffs from the Leafs so..
