+1

I was getting woried that Burke was going to go the way of every other Leafs GM in my lifetime and mortgage our future to make our present slightly less bleak. Really glad he seems to have changed his mind on that one - really too bad we couldn't get our own pick back though.

yeah, for farts in a paper bag.

they won't get much of anything. there is no dif between those pics and a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
if the leafs were making a Cup push and wanted to add a rental, those pics would be helpful.

I've liked (or at least understood) every move Burke has made since the Kessel trade. Sadly, his mutitude of good moves still don't make up for the Kessel trade, in my eyes. It will literally take 3-4 seasons of good moves for me to forget that (few things have inspired me to come on here and write impassioned posts regarding anything Leafs-related, but that trade did).

Even if what Burke is doing looks good on paper, and I really do think the addition of 2 first rounders, two former 1st rounders and potentially 2 more relatively early-mid picks (2nd and third rounder) in exchange for a player that never fit and a player who wasn't part of the plans is great, I don't like what he's saying: (i.e., All of that junk about quickly turning this team around, not really wanting picks). I hope that all that talk is just for show and that he keeps collecting draft picks/prospects.

I don't buy it when Burke said Kaberle had asked for an extension. It's a good haul. No need to sell it as something else because those of us with half a brain understand the move.
