They moved in the right direction bringing Kadri and Frattin up, but I don't know why Gardiner is down there.

Im assuming when they originally sent him down was because he looked rusty, so they just sent him down to log big minutes in the AHL and then they would call him back up.

But I dont know why they wouldnt have called him up by now.

I think they like their new size/toughness on the blue line.

In my mind, Liles is the one to go (via trade) and then Gardiner assumes that 'puck mover' spot.

That was one heck of a dominant performance last night. This team really does have everyone fighting for each other right now.

Reimer is currently 8th in SV%. 5th among goalies that have played 8 games or more. He's also 8th in shots against. That's largely with three Marlies on D. So far, so good.

fwiw, I think Fraser is the best of that bunch. He's a decent enough third pairing guy.

LOL @ nickname ATL time keeper.

Haha... I can only assume that's based on the NUMEROUS time that the Hawks timekeeper screwed over or attempted to screw over the Raps. Well played.

Do you think it's simply that they want to take their time with him after the concussion?

I don't get it either. He should be up here playing, same thing with Holzer who is now up. Trade Lyles if you can because Gardiner's better and bigger at this point.

As for Fraser, who knows, coaches sometimes fall in love with certain guys and what not but it still doesn't make any sense.

I do think it's because of the concussion to an extent, and also due to the options on the excess defenseman. They'll lose some of them should they be placed on waivers.

With that said, it's time to move on with Komisarek and Liles. I don't mind Kotska and Fraser on the team, but not at the expense of Gardiner. They're adequate #6 and #7 guys, but again, Gardiner is wasting away down in the minors, and it's showing in his play.

On a side note, I absolutely love the way Holzer has been playing. I think the Leafs have something with him, and I'm anxious to see what he can do with additional playing time.

BTW, it really sucks that Schultz picked Edmonton. How good would he have been being added to the Leafs.

Hopefully the Reimer injury isn't serious cause he's been on a nice roll lately.

I see alot of empty seats in "Suit Row" tonight. Shame that the everyday fan is not allowed to fill them up.

This has been the case since they moved to the ACC. Not really anything new. These are the people MLSE wants in their arena and the organization has no right to complain about fans not cheering enough or being in their seats to start the periods.

Is Reimer injury prone? I don't even think it was a hit that injured...it looked more like a groin pull, the result of poor stretching/conditioning/

MCL knee strain. He was previously concussed from a cheap shot. I don't think there's enough there to suggest he's poorly conditioned.

The goaltending's been awesome. Dion needs fewer minutes and Fraser/Franson need more.

A win tonight could really give us some separation/ put us on really solid ground in the standings.

Gotta admit, they look good. This compressed schedule is actually probably helping them. As some of us said, they're great at playing well for half a season.

This game tonight is a must win, imo.

Especially if Anderson doesnt come back.

Tough loss last night.

I am really impressed with the way Kadri is playing overall. He still makes mistakes every now and again and Carlyle calls him on it but he's still playing through the mistakes.

On top of that he's throwing his weight around a little, not backing down when challenged and showing off that skill we all knew he had. He's making good defensive recovery plays from time to time as well.

His time with the Marlies greatly helped his development. I saw him a ton in the OHL, and he's made a lot of progress to round out his game. He's certainly matured on the ice.
