For those of you wondering if anything will happen today, this is according to Bob McKenzie:
For the Leaf fans out there, unless there is a seismic shift in coming hours, TOR is not close to pulling the trigger on anything today.

Burke just spoke to Duthie, said he's not trying to get into the 1st round. A team made an offer with a first rounder for one of our defenseman (I'm 90% sure it's Schenn since it's not Kaberle), but it wasn't sensible. In terms of Kaberle, none of the prospective deals are in the ballpark so far.

I am starting to think Brian Burke is the Bryan Colangelo of hockey.

To be fair, Burkie was open to a full rebuild and just screwed it up. BC is trying to hold on to something that just isn't there.

It wasn't really expected for us to make a move yesterday, but I do hope that we can get at least one 2nd rounder (Burke said last night he's going to try and get one - feels that teams with money problems are willing to attach picks but it's difficult to get a first out of them). Some interesting guys left on the board, notably John McFarland and Tyler Pitlick.

McFarland's gonna be a stud. I was hoping Montreal would take him but I'm happy with Tinordi, regardless.

The Leafs have completed a trade with the Blackhawks:
Chicago trades the 43rd pick for an unsigned draft pick that is not disclosed at the moment.
Leafs select the top agitator in the draft as per Bob McKenzie (consensus among scouts) - Bradley Ross.

I love the McKegg pick. His skillset is excellant for someone drafted that far down in the draft. He basically finished top 10 in OHL scoring and playing on a team without any real legit offensive players. Good skater, good hands, nice moves and good finishing ability. His offensive game reminds me alot of Jamie Benn of Dallas (who was also drafted much later). I dont really like many prospects in the Leafs system but even just after watching some clips on him im very impressed. This video shows he has some really nice dangles and a nose for the net.

^Detroit wanted him badly, hence the trade up to get the pick to draft him. I'm all for taking flyers on high potential guys (although more likely to bust) like that in the mid rounds of the draft.
