He was placed on waivers...... i dont see why Burke did that

The guy was big and played rough, perfect 4th line Brian Burke player...... he even racked up alot of fighting majors when given the chance in the NHL and thats what they expected from him.

I guess he was gonna beat out Colton Orr obviously and Brown seems more experienced of a bruiser, so my guess is Rosehill asked to be waived..... then Burke waived him after finding no trade partners, like the Bryzgalov move in Anaheim.

I mean would it have hurt the Marlies to have a hitman like Rosehill around?

me no like

Being waived doesn't mean you're out of the organization. If he clears waivers (isn't claimed by another team within 24 hours of being demoted) he'll be lacing them up with the Marlies next season.

last season, he was a scrub on a horrible team.
he hasn't increased his skillset or developed a scoring touch.
sadly, he's likely a career minor leaguer. good talent for the AHL but nothing useable for the NHL

Yep, he's a solid reserve for a 4th line call-up if you lose some toughness via injury. Nothing more than that IMO.

Rosehill is replaceable by about 200+ players that enter waivers, and about 10 players on the Marlies (which is where he'll play this season).
