Hey, not sure if this has been posted before as I mostly stick to the bball section,

But here is a key stat for the Leafs.
#1 in the league in giveaways with 233 (leading by a large margin)
3 of the top 15 players in the league for giveaways (Kaberle, Beauchemin, Schenn)

Top 4 D (3 above + Komisarek) account for 90 giveaways or more than the entire team of Columbus, St. Louis, and almost as many as NYR or Boston.
These 4 players also have 44% of the team's total giveaways.

We are 19th in takeaways at 134 for a whopping -99 combined. Next closest team is Edmonton at -75.

This stat definitely doesn't look good but maybe it's more indicitative about their style of play or the fact that their defense might be relied on a bit more to bring the puck up ice b/c of their lack of depth upfront. Regardless, as a competive team you shouldn't be last in your league in anything especially as something as important as giveaways.

I'd be curious to see this broken down even further as to what zone the turnover was in and if it resulted in a goal.
