Oh boy. This should be interesting.

Does anyone have any clue what Stefanovich's upside was... from the sounds of it he was just another "meh" prospect.

As much as I know...couldn't make the Marlies, was playing for the Reading whatevers and then signed a contract in the KHL...I'd be suprised if he plays an NHL game...don't know anything about his game but his potential doesn't seem like much

Brunnstrom would have to clear waivers to play in the NHL and I'm not really sure if this is a Marlies or Leafs move.

Keep in mind Brunnstrom was on waivers just a little while ago, so it seems we needed to move a contract in the deal rather than just picking him up (Stefanovich - don't think he'd every play with us anyways).

Guy has great skill but hasnt been able to put it together. Hes a goal scorer and is almost a 2 point per game guy but he was playing in the Quebec league at the age of 20. Wasnt able to stick on the Marlies and hes struggling in the KHL.

Brunnstrom is a Marlies move. Funny how a couple of years ago everybody wanted the guy...

Brunnstrom is partially the media's fault for whipping itself into a frenzy over him, and he's partially his own fault for not living up to his potential.

this is a Marlies move. builds depth. and if the Leafs crap the joint up some more and can dump a few contracts come February (Clark Macarthur for a draft pick, Kaberle perhaps) then you may see Brunnstom play a few games.

Unless we're getting a first round/high 2nd round pick for Macarthur, he's not going anywhere for a draft pick. IF Burke trades him, it'll have to make sense. They'll be keeping him for next season.

....and decent trade here. Brunnstrom had some mild success in his rookie season, but has crapped the bed since. We're trading a player that'll most likely never see any time in North America, so there wasn't any risk in this move what so ever. If anything, at the very least, this is a good Marlies move.

He's an UFA at the end of the year, but it'd be silly not to bring him back. Based on his performance this year, he's definitely earned another contract with the Leafs. He certainly looks like a solid/comfortable 2nd line player.

But he has little to no reason to stay on Toronto. Plus he will probably want three mil a year. Not sure how the leafs cap situation is, but there is a lot of do ugh tied into the three dummies on D and to Kessel

I'd give him Grabo/Kulemin type money, but I wouldn't go any higher. If he wanted north of 3 million, I'd let him walk. However, at around 2.5, he's a good signing.
