- With 14 points out of the playoffs as of Feb 1st, is this team expected to make the play-offs?
- Trade deadline February 28, is Burke going to make moves to increase the chances of this team to make the playoffs
- Will Giguere and Kaberle(not sure) waive their no trade clause as they are expirings and may possibly bring a good player(s) to Toronto?
- Will Leafs give up a top 5 pick once again to Boston?
Lots of speculation this month!

No playoffs
I see a couple small moves, nothing major
Kabs won't waive anything and maybe JS if the right situation comes along and it won't bring anything back of too much value.
And I was thinkin' they wouldn't give up a top 5, but looking at the standings I'm not sure who they'd leapfrog so ya probably giving the 5th pick but at least it's a weak draft.
As bad as this year has been, it's been better than last year IMO though still very frustrating...I can sympathize w/ Knicks fans after these last few years...

What a beauty of a goal by Grabovski last night.

Leafs are 6 points away from the 8th spot.
23 games to go. Any thoughts on a playoff push?

IMO, it's still a little bit to early for me because Leafs can be quite inconsistent. No doubt do I want them to be in the playoffs. But when they start winning, they do well for stretches and when they lose, it's also continuous. Also, the playoff race is looking pretty tight for us but I mean hey, you never know..
Kessel is looks like he's got his touch back with 3 goals in two games. I think he can get 30 again and even more if he keeps it up like this!

8-2-2 in their last 12 I believe. Only 4 pts back from the 8th spot Carolina.
Go Leafs Go!

Those bottom seeds must have been losing a lot because it's not like the Leafs are super-hot right now, they're just playing quite good. I mean, 3 weeks ago they looked completely out of it. Now they're only 4 points away.

4 points away, wow. Didn't know I would see this day. But is this another late season run that will end up in failure?

2-0 lead in the third to a team that we're battling for a play-off spot and we end up losing

I don't know what the Leafs were expecting when they got a washed up Giggy. I guess Burkie was thinking we'd be a playoff team last year. But at this stage, no one was going to want to trade for him.

They got rid of Jason Blake's deal for him. In the end it was a win for us.

Ahh yes, forgot about Blake. brrrrrr
Last night, that rush by Phaneuf in OT was captain like material. Full end to end rush, then he battled through to keep the puck on his stick, and that threw all the Penguins off. Tic tac toe, 2pts. No assist for Phaneuf, but for any fan, it's not about a measly assist. It's about your captain making chit happen.

So we have a 10% chance of making the playoffs.
http://www.sportsclubstats.com/NHL/East ... Leafs.htmlGotta keep picking up those points. Ultimately though I think they ll fall short.
