Hey all. I have friends visiting from South America and would love to take them to a Leafs game. I imagine I'll have to go through a scalper seeing as how I have no connections. I have never bought from a scalper before and I'm wondering what the minimum I'd likely be paying is? I'm basically looking for the cheapest seats (with a view) because I don't have a lot of cash. Also, is it possible to get them in advance because I wouldn't want to drag them all the way to the ACC only to get shut-out.
btw... I'm looking at the Tues Nov 8th game against the Panthers... so it's not a 'premium' type game.

Re: Ticket info (dealing with scalpers)
Try Craigslist or Kijiji prior to the game if you want them in advance. The scalpers will always have tickets, especially on Tuesday night game against Florida. You won't pay above face, that's for sure. Tell the Scalpers exactly what you want to spend, they'll counter or say no. Walk away, and they'll likely take your offer. The closer to game time (on the actual day), the cheaper they'll be. You can score cheaper tickets right when the game is about to begin.
Don't take the first tickets that are offered to you by a Scalper....walk around and get a general idea of prices. Once you find out, you'll know what you'll be expected to pay. Tell them you want uppers, and ask them what they have and for how much. They'll say something along the lines of "I'll give you a pair of uppers for $120"....reply with "all I have is $90" and negotiate from there.

Thanks for the info! So I should be looking at spending around $200 for 4 seats? Thanks again!

For uppers, you'll probably be spending a little more than that. Try to go as low as possible with the scalpers, and see what you can get.

Re: Ticket info (dealing with scalpers)
I have upper bowl, green level section 308 (between centre and leafs' blue line), row 6 tickets...they are $95 face value. I'd say scalpers would probably sell at 2 for $150 or so, so you'd probably be looking at about $300 minimum for decent seats. If you don't mind going up to blue/purple, I'm sure you could get in 4 people for $200, especially if they aren't playing a great team.
