Opening night tonight against the Jets.

Toronto media needs to calm down. The possibility of a letdown season is far higher than a rocket to the top of the East right now. We still need a rock on the blueline imo.

I thought Borgmann looked a little rough. Tried to do too much. Rosen impressed me in the pre-season with his passing ability, but I get why Babcock wanted another banger.

Zaitsev was awesome last night. We blew the doors off despite playing almost a 1/3 of the game on the penalty kill.

Still unsure what the lovefest Babcock has for Hyman on the first line with those two. It's cringeworthy to see him breaking up so many perfect plays, yes he's a hardworker, he's always the first one rushing for loose puck in the corner, that's about it.

While connor brown is on the 4th line SMH

brown is a pretty good forechecker too, and he has a higher offensive upside than hyman. Hopefully babcock makes the obvious switch.

Yeah, I don't think Hyman will have a lot of rope this season, especially not with our forward core so deep.

Brown played well with them last year, but it doesn't bother me that Babcock is going with what worked. Watching the Bozak line constantly chase the play in their own end I can appreciate Hyman's ability to win battles. Maybe it costs that line some points, but it's balanced and still dangerous.

This team's offense is pretty insane. I just hope this era doesn't end up like the Ottawa Senators of the early 2000s.

This is a super fun game to watch so far! Also watching UFC at the same time!

I'm not too worried about it. Remember last season when our defense looked awful the first month? Then Babcock gradually started to tighten things downs and it looked pretty solid in the second half. Hoping the same thing can happen this season. Will probably take some games for Andersen to settle in too.
