Well, he cleared waivers now so he can down and save some money long-term an still be recalled now I guess, not sure if he has to go through waivers again to come up (don't think so).

On the other board I'm on they think if Campbell doesn't restore his magic Shanahan & Dubas are both going to be gone(Leafs need to WIN TWO playoff rounds at least). I just don't think they are constructed to do that.

Can you reload in this market/FA/trades/draft in this era? Or is it going to be another 5 years?

Dubas and Shanny made mistakes no doubt, primarily when Matthews/Marner/Nylander were on rookie deals. But the Leafs are like the fifth best team in the league, they've consistently won they've come up short in the playoffs. But they also lost to teams that would go on to have huge runs in the playoffs. Like ****, we lost to Montreal but Price basically carried that team to a finals last year. The columbus loss wasn't good. The boston losses were understandable. The Leafs are good at a time when Tampa Bay and Boston have basically been just a notch better and now Florida on the come up.

I don't think Dubas and Shanny are the problem and getting rid of them won't solve anything. They just have to keep retooling the back end and goalie till they can figure it out or get damn lucky with a prospect goalie out of nowhere.
