Some quick thoughts on the season:
What is necessary to sign Kabina and Gill? Watching McCabe, Gill and Kubina playing D is painful at times.
Losing those home games earlier in the season hurts a lot. Those should be easy 2 points.
Raycroft sucks. They seriously have to find someone better than him. He reminds me of Peter Ing.
There are many games that the Leafs should have done better, but the one that killed them was the game vs the Sabres with the score 4-1 in the third period. The Sabres scored 4 straight goals to win. Even getting a point would have save the season.
Overall, this team was flawed to start with. Not enough talent and judgement. If Darcy Tucker is the #1 winger (no disrespect to Darcy), then the team is going nowhere.
The offseason would say a lot for the Leafs and MLSE, if they continue the path that they have been in the past (signing some B grade free agents and making lateral trades), then I have no hope left for this franchise. Honestly, this team needs to do a total rebuilding job, starting with Mats Sundin. I liked Mats, and I think he is one of the best captain in Leaf history, but it
