I'm just listening to Chuck Swirsky on the Fan590, and I hear about this pledge that Toronto's Mayor David Miller, Vancouver's Mayor Sam Sullivan, and Calgary's Mayor Dave Bronconnier, is creating to make Leaf fans, Canucks fans, and Flames fans root for the Senators during this Stanley Cup Finals.
This is absolutely ridiculous! If your a fan of the Leafs you are NOT rooting for the Sens not matter what they bribe you with (in this case Game 6 tickets). As a true Blue, Leaf fan I will not only be not signing the pledge, but I will burn one of them if I get my hands on it (maybe put it on youtube).
I honestly can't believe they are doing this, I feel betrayed by my own Mayor for the fact that he's cheering for one of our arch foes. This WOULD NOT happen if the Leafs were in the finals. No, instead they'd make a pledge to root for the other team.
Anyways here's the link and pledge: http://www.sootoday.com/content/sports/ ... mber=25005
The Scotia Pledge
I, __________
devoted fan of the ____________________________
solemly swear to set aside team rivalries
for the duration of the season
and pledge my support
to the remaining Canadian team.
I hereby dedicate my hockey-loving soul
to their quest to bring the glory home
to the place where hockey was born,
where the game was perfected,
where its spirit runs deepest,
And where the world's greatest trophy belongs.
I just had to complain about that, I just find that not right.

I second that notion.
On a side note though, anyone else see that feature they played on TSN of the little 3 year old from Ottawa who died of cancer in his Parents' lap just merely hours after the Sens knocked off the Sabres? Very sad indeed. He was playing and practicing with the Senators, mostly with Mike Fisher. It brought a tear to my eye.
Having said that though, 'EFF THE SENS!!!
