What are the rules on RFAs? I know there are picks given to a team that is losing a player. If anyone has a website or even a basic outline that would be awesome.

I believe that on TSN they said a player signed on the high end, say 6 million and up would cost you 4 first rounders, someone 4.5 to 6 miliion would cost two firsts, a second, and a third and someone below that would cost a first, second and third round pick. I could be wrong though as I am just going by memory.

Over 5 million - 4 first round picks

$4 mil-$5 mil - 2 First round picks, 1 second round pick, 1 third round pick

$3 mil- $4 mil- 1 First round pick, 1 second round pick, 1 third round pick

$2 mil- $3 mil- 1 first round pick, 1 third round pick

$1 mil- $2 mil- 1 second round pick

$660,000 - $1 mil- 1 third round pick

Under $660,000 - Nothing
