Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is about to announce that it is spending millions in an attempt to upgrade the quality of the ACC's oft-lamented playing surface in time for the 2007-08 campaign.
Now, the Leafs are taking an aggressive approach to controlling the humidity. The installation of the new equipment, essentially a giant dehumidifying system, started on the weekend.

It's about time the Leafs do something about the ice condition. This is hockey, having proper ice is vital. The difference between 'good' ice conditions and 'poor' ice conditions is ridiculous. I could see why the players have been angry.
