It's about time. Then again, when do the Leafs act decisively.
The sad thing about reading that article is that Peddie keeps saying that Fletcher has full autonomy to make hockey related decisions, yet Peddie is retaining Gord Kirke to help him find the new GM along with Fletcher.
Sorry, but this is where all the problems continue to reside. Get Peddie the F*** away from the hockey team.

And as per usual, the rat escapes unscathed yet again. I'm pretty hard-pressed to believe much is going to change as long as Peddie is still collecting an MLSE paycheque.
I missed the entire question but someone did basically call Peddie on why he's involved in the next hire based on his history and not involving Cliff.
I don't remember his answer and didn't expect Peddie to answer clearly but I'm glad someone called him on it.

Very glad to hear this as well. Let's hope the words are just as sharp in the dailies today and tomorrow.
And if anyone can provide any recaps of the pressers, much appreciated.

The leafs gm will never have full autonomy because Richard Peddie is the voice of the OTPP. Scotty Bowman said he wanted similar power to what Brian Colangelo had, and once Peddie, heard that he called him back and said sorry we are going to stick with JFJ. RP knew as soon as Bowman came in he would not be allowed to have anything to do with the daily hockey opearations, his job on the hockey side was being replaced, similar to that of the basketball operations.
Lets remember cliff fletcher is the "draft smaft" guy. He thinks the draft is useless, good luck getting good prospects and picks from these losers.
If hal gill isnt gone within 2 weeks, this team is screwed.

I'd argue that the problem isn't the OTPP. Teacher's dont' care if they make their money by winning the cup every year or playing the way they currently do.
It's Peddie's vision about how to maximize profits and his incessant need to interject into his team's day-to-day operations that's been the stumbling block.
