Antropov Suspended

Post#1 » by Crowned » Fri Feb 1, 2008 11:16 pm

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nik Antropov was assessed two game misconduct penalties in overtime of a 3-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. The second penalty was for abuse of an official - which carries an automatic three game suspension.

Antropov slammed his stick against the boards, broke it...and tossed it at the Ref's. I don't care how bad of a call the penalty was, you don't toss your stick at a referee. That's an embarassment. I'm glad he was suspended.

He does not deserve 3 games based on the video.

You're right, he deserves more. You do not toss your stick at an official, it's that simple. Would a baseball player toss his bat at an umpire, and expect to not recieve a suspension? How about a basketball player throwing the ball at a referee? This is professional sports, not a beer league. Have some respect for the officials, and not embarass your organization.

who cares, it only helps the tanking process with him out. Antropov's value is at a all time high and I wouldnt be against dealing him if there was a good offer for him.
