Very good deal. This kid is a stud.
Kulmenin
Grabovski
Schenn
Tlusty
Pogge.
I like the building blocks SO FAR.
The leafs only traded Greg Pateryn and a 2010 2nd Round pick for Grabovski.
Also the Leafs are interested in C Brendan Morrison.

The deal has upside potential deifinitely- the guy got 20 points in 12 games for Hamilton in the AHL, but I don't like giving away all these draft picks. We have no 2nd round pick for the next 2 drafts now.
We also have way too many C, which makes me wonder about a trade. Stajan, Grabovski, Moore, Steen (original position), Antripov, Tlusty, Devereaux....and Sundin

. We need wingers.

Grabovski has a ton of offensive potential, hopefully he lives up to it. I don't mind Pateryn...and I don't like trading another 2nd rounder, but I like the thought process behind this deal. Hopefully Wilson gives him a chance on one of the top lines this season, where he'll be most effective.

Habs fans seem to be pretty high on this guy... apparently he tore it up in the AHL but has been pretty much non-existent with the big club.
Lots of speed and flair, however once somebody bumps him he goes flying.
It really sucks giving up our 5th (Pateryn) + a 2nd for a 5th rounder, but obviously this is a high-risk/high-reward type of move that the Leafs are in good position to make right now.
Overall, I'd say a good move by the Silver Fox.

I like what I've seen of Grabovski and it's great that Fletcher has picked him up. But, I'm still concerned that Fletcher seems to be going through draft picks like I go through pairs of socks. I know that his theory is that getting a known quantity is better than an unknown/draft pick, but if you don't gain young talent through the draft it's going to be very hard to build a contender long term. I think this has been proven over and over - Detroit and New Jersey are just two examples.
I'm not so much opposed to this particular deal, as I am to the idea of trading draft picks for more immediate gain. As an individual move, it might be a good one. As part of the current trend, it raises some questions.

Grabovski is going to look nice in Toronto. There was just no room for him in Montreal; we have too many forwards already.

Grabovski has looked really good all training camp. Hes got great wheels, good agility and seems tobe willing to go in the corners.
Good trade by Fletch.

He handles the puck way too much from what I've seen of him so far. He can beat guys with his speed alone, but he doesn't know when to give it up.

20 games in, Grabov. leads all rookies with goals, and is 3rd amongst rooks for points.
Nice to know his offensive game is coming along nicely.
